I am done with chieftian DLC. We play regular lobby games with random civ and these civs are right now handicap in TG setting. I tried unchecking the DLC in property menu in steam but after relaunching i still see the civ.
Do i need to reinstall?
DLC only locks it for you, other players can still use them in multiplayer
All i want is i dont get it when i select random civ ![]()
I would expect uninstalling the DLC to work, so if it doesn’t, you should consider making a bug report for it. A workaround may be to not use random but custom civ selection, whereby you star all the non-Chieftain civs.
Go to options in Steam, click on the game’s DLCs tab and uninstall it…
there is no uninstall button. I did like below screen shot. Doesnt seem to work. I still get these civs in random.
Create a custom list with all the civ but the TLC
You can remove DLC from your account through a support request. The process for this is automated and happens basically instantly.
If you then want to add the DLC back you can go through your purchase history and click through ‘i have an issue with this purchase’ ‘it does not appear in my library’ and you get it back.
I can’t guarantee that it will work forever, but I have done this with the Roman and Georgian dlcs and it worked (also tested adding it back).
I think the Devs are just incompetent that basic Steam functions like this aren’t working properly. I have reported this bug in the past, but they don’t give a shit
Not to mention lack of rollback to the previous patches or just allowing not to install new ones… My PC has been disconnected from the web for weeks because I don’t want Steam to update the game before I finish playing custom campaigns created before the naval rework ![]()
I didn’t want to mention that part because I’m starting to feel like a broken record
Never a bad time to point out the lack of the industry standard features lol
Thank you so much! This worked
That’s strange… if you disable the DLCs, it shouldn’t let you play with those civs in random matches…
Oh, I didn’t know that. Yes, it’s a good option, although a bit cumbersome…
I haven’t even had the game installed since November, so even if I install it, all the updates are going to hit me at once…![]()
Brilliant…
I have no experience with it, so use it on your own risk, but I came across an AoE2 Patcher that claims to be able to downgrade.
