Thanks for bringing this report. This issue is usually triggered by a software different than AoE2.

We have some reports from players who were able to solve the issue by logging in again in the Xbox app in your Microsoft Store app.

Also, try to start the game by disabling overlays in other software such as Discord, Steam and Nvidia.
