What’s next? Shutting down the servers?
Are the people in charge AOE-3 haters?
It’s the best game in the franchise for many of us, and perhaps the best video game of all time. We never cared how many figures and arguments there are against it.
I guess it’s satisfying to put the last nail in the coffin right on the 20th anniversary, so good for you.

It will be better in the hands of modders and communities.

yes, Next will be shutting down the servers, basically they announced it officially that they won’t get any new content anymore

They haven’t shut down AOE1DE servers yet despite the game getting no patches in 5 years.

AOE-1 is not a hated game, AOE-3 is.

If they hate AoE3 why did they make AoE3DE and then all those DLC and free content updates on top while AoE1 got ported into AoE2 to then receive the bare minimum there.

Those kinds of questions are only asked by someone who arrived late to the party.

They don’t hate us, because that would imply that they have some emotion about AOE3, they just lust for money and they have their favorite meretriz, the one who generates a lot for them with little investment.
I don’t think they’ll shut down the servers, they don’t represent a big cost and ours is probably shared with some other game.
A unique Church model should’ve been created for the Maltese by now!
They were always haters of III.
Worlds Edge is just an AoE II fan club, remember that!

Too bad nobody had the idea of making the DLC pre paid so they cannot just cancel it. But anyways its too late.
Exactly, AoE III was the light bulb in the Franchise
Every new idea has been brought to it.
Then they brought them back in IV
The game is not dead! It is just dormant until the community awakens the sleeping dragon that is AOE3. I fully trust the modders, the community and the story of survival and perseverance that this game and its community has had for years.
AGE OF EMPIRES 3 HAS SURVIVED ALL ADVERSITIES UNTIL NOW THIS WILL NOT BE DIFFERENT.

Do you think there is a chance that this can be reversed? We have never demanded prominence, only respect and empathy towards the game and the community. It is painful to see that they hold celebrations and events without the participation of this game. It is as if those who say that this game is crap are being proven right, when hypocritically the ideas move to other games and they don’t even know where they come from.
Highly unlikely, but I guess if AOMR fails and AOE3DE player count increases enough maybe Microsoft will think about it, but to achieve this the community needs to stay united and in my opinion give more support and visibility to the mods and talented modders that the game has.
Yes, and that never mattered to the company, because no matter how badly they treated us, we kept buying instead of making ourselves respected.
No company is a friend of the community and businessmen will always seek to make money with the least effort. If you are interested in a game prospering, the player must always demand quality and be responsible for what they spend their money on, otherwise all companies would become Ubisoft, Bethesda or Electronic Arts.
I think they made it very clear with the announcement that they never considered us part of the AOE franchise and just wanted to make us “feel” included, because to them we were never part of the family.
For Microsoft, we are the equivalent of Meg Griffin from Family Guy.
I don’t like to end on such a pessimistic note, so I want to repeat something I said when this disaster happened and I think that as the months go by it will make more sense and I hope it will be for the best.
This is not the end, it’s the beginning of something new and we are the ones who define if that is a good or bad thing.
For me this game will never die, because I will keep playing and because we have the most loyal community of all AOE.
