Idea for Tarkans

Keshiks make Tarkans look flat out bad, that’s how good the Keshik is.

If the Keshik could be produced from stables like the Tarkan can it’d be absolutely broken. The castle restriction is the one serious, necessary bar keeping the Keshik from going mad.

True. Keshik is better than Tarkan against almost all units. Only building is Tarkan’s specialty compared to Keshik.

You can clearly see that Tarkans aren’t that much better against ranged units than paladins but way worse against melee. So it’s natural huns usually prefer the palading cause the tarkan doesn’t offers much better results against ranged but poses much more risk in being countered.

I still prefer Tarkans against archers and CA. The only melee counter I’m more likely to face is Halb and Tarkan can run away from them. Even after considering Marauder, Tarkan is cheaper and faster to upgrade. Also bonus damage vs building and resisting more arrow fires from defensive building make them a better raiding unit than Paladin.

Unfortunately, the timing window for that strategy is rather small, very late, and it’s much more natural to simply stick with any knights and upgrade those more often than not.

think it depends - if you start knight then it’s easier to stick with knight, but tarkans are good if you start CA, go imp and just want some meat shield when you are against archer civs, like britions

This Keshik vs Tarkan replies reminds me a KOTD4 match. I believe it was Miguel (Huns) vs Fire (Tatars). Fire resigned right after he sees like 10 Tarkans from Miguel. Although he was lagging behind and would probably resign anyway.

If Huns didn’t have Paladins maybe Tarkans would have seen more use.
This is not a proposal to remove Paladins from Huns, obviously.
