Chinese represents Sui, Tang, Song, Ming Dynasty. There are great materials for making good Chinese Campaigns.
I read a bit of Chinese history again. There can be quite a lot of choices from different dynasties. But I may need more ideas from Chinese players. What are more suitable for Chinese campaigns?
(4) Reunification of China
To re-unite China since the fall of Tang, Song Chinese had to defeat Northern Han while it was supported by Khitans. Chinese had to stop Khitans reinforcement from land and river, hence successfully captured the captial city of Northern Han.
(5) Repel Khitans invasion
Khitans was growing stronger and stronger and then started invasion. Khitans advanced very close to the capital city of Bianliang. Song emperor decided to stop Khitans at Chanyuan.
(6) Relocation to Lin An
Jurchens has defeated Khitans and captured the Northern territories of Song. Song had to relocate the captial city while getting chased by Jurchens. Song generals stopped Jurchens by naval warfares.
(7) Banishing Mongols
Mongols economic policies caused tough life of Chinese. The life was further worsened by flooding of Yellow River. Mongolians forced Chinese for Corvee, which triggered revolution. Ming had to banish Mongols away from China.
(8) Defense of Beijing
Ming Emperor Zengtong was captured by Mongols during expedition. Mongols attacked Beijing. Ming repelled Mongols with guns and cannons.
I don’t now about foreigners, as a Chinese I believe the most popular campaign among Chinese players would no doubt be the Yue Fei (岳飞) one. Second popular vote is probably a Zhu Yuanzhng (朱元璋) campaign, who founded the Ming dynasty.
I personally also want to see a Khitan campaign for Yelu Dashi (耶律大石) who founded the Kara-Khitan as well as a Jurchen campaign for Hong Taiji (皇太极) who laid the foundation for the rise of Qing dynasty (清朝). Another choice i like for the Khitans is the Khitan-Korea war and another choice for the Jurchens is the fall of the Jin dynasty (金朝), they really did put up a fight.
I made a topic regarding whether Gokturks, Tibetians, Dali etc should be included in Chinese campaigns. Most Chinese players agree to add them as DLC civs and also Chinese campaigns. So I proposed the above campaigns.
Yue Fei, Yu Qian, Qi Jiguang seemed great as campaign protagonists as well.
Yes it’d be great to have them, but realistically i’m willing to settle for the Khitans and Jurchens for now. Hopefully the devs add campaigns for these two civs as well as for the Chinese and Koreans
