I’ve been thinking of some ideas for future expansions/DLCs for the game. They would mainly cover regions outside of Europe, and focus on the more powerful empires and kingdoms of the period 500 ad to 1500 ad. These are my ideas for civs and what they would focus on:
Wonders of the Silk Road
Tibetans
Jurchen
Chinese campaign (Emperor Taizu)
The Monsoon Merchants
Swahili
Somalis
Tamils
Age of Africa
Kongolese
Kanembu
Songhai
Benin
The Northern Crusades
Poles
Bohemians
Lithuanian campaign (Vytautas)
The Conquerors of America
Toltecs
Tarascans
Spanish campaign (Hernan Cortes)
Caucasia and Carpathia
Georgians
Romanians
Magyar campaign (Matthias Corvinus)
Empires of the Sea
Tais
Bengals
Chams
Chimu
Korean campaign (King Sejong the Great)
Return of the Rajas
Odiyas
Kannadigaru
Indian campaign (Akbar the Great)
The Ancient Empires
Nubians
Zapotecs
Mayan campaign (Kʼicheʼ kingdom of Qʼumarkaj)

Not Medieval, and Spanish already has a campaign.
Cortez was a mistake, both the man, and the Aztec campaign.
These are just a few examples. We need more. Good job. Honorable mentions:
Khitans
Tanguts
Zimbabweans
Hausa
Mossi
North American civs such as Iroquois or Mississippians
Araucans
Muiscans
More Native Americans
More Indians - Marathi, Sinhalese etc.
Tongans
Khazars

I’m surprised that you deem a Cortes campaign innapropriate due to not being medieval, yet seem to have no qualms with a campaign about Akbar the Great! 11 What do you think about the ideas for new civs?
I like Cheshire’s list better, to be honest.

Mine was a supplement. Yeah, the Chams aren’t that important as the Vietnamese or other SEA civs and the Toltecs can be covered by Aztecs very arguably, but I’d still prefer them as a civilization.
I do believe Chimus are very important - There should be 2 regions in South America - : Andean and Woodland South American.

Wow I’ve never found anyone who think like I do about this. Pushing the limits of the timeframe of the game all the way to 1598 steps into an age of great cultural and technological changes that makes some aspects of the game unfit.
Now, because of that, people ask for a Dutch civ focused on water based on the dutch colonial period.

Fortunately, we have Burgundians now, so Dutch are covered.

Game doesn’t need so many new civs, but i would like the first two ideas for a dlc.
I think devs should work to make some units more viable and make civ bonuses more unique,.
It actually does need as many civs as it can get. The more, the merrier.

I can imagine these packs:
Tibetans + Bengalis
Poles + Bohemians
Swiss + Austrians
Bavarians + Westphalians
Danish + Swedish
Zimbabwe + Congo
Nah, bro.
Swiss + Bohemians for an “End of the Midde Ages” expansion pack would be sweet.
