EXAMPLE:
6 vils build 1 farm. 5 go idle right?
now they can be selected with either “cycle idle vils” or “select ALL idle vils” hotkey. BUT NOT WITH “select ALL idle vils in radius” hotkey !!! clicking the ui also works fine.
I believe this is caused by there being 2 idle states in the game. let’s call them “true idle” and “fake idle”.
TRUE IDLE: executed whatever cmmd was given and goes idle with the “zzz” sleep indicator appearing
FAKE IDLE: ran out of things to do (eg building a farm). if you build another farm next to this unit, it will still remember its last cmmd and go to build that farm as well. NOTE: while idle this unit doesn’t have the zzz sleep thing!
basically the second state doesnt get selected by the “in radius” hotkey, which is extremly annoying and makes that hotkey basically useless. lets say your vils run out of sheep to farm under tc, they will go idle, but clicking the “select idle vils in radius hotkey” will not select them, while the other idle hotkeys WILL!
i’ve been reporting this ever since the hotkey was put in the game to no avail, but i thought i’d try my luck again.
there are a couple more bugs in the controlls, like the “cycle through (subselect) selected units” option/dropdown menu doing literally nothing. it seems like a leftover from development days and has been in the game since pre-release, but if one day, just this one hotkey gets fixed, i would be fairly happy already! pls pls ty ![]()
