In my book the 3K civs are at the very edge (the strategic situation for Rome wasn’t that different in AD 200 as it would be in AD 400, the real change came with the Antonine Plague that severely nerfed the Imperivm), it’s just weird to split the Chinese like that.
That’s not how this works.
The 3K civs are not within the Middle Ages, they are within Antiquity. They are technologically closer to Alexander than Genghis Khan.
Iv seen people say medieval age for china started with 3k period, regardless of your personal preference 3k is not going to go away.
Those people are incorrect.
Chinese Middle Ages starts with the Sui Dynasty.
Then the complaints, negativity and negative reviews shall continue then.
AOE2 covers Late Antiquity too, in Europe I’d place that around AD 180 - 620 (Antonine Plague to the rise of Islam)
Yes I dismiss the near-non-event that was the abdication of Romulus Augustule in AD 476
Yeah. I would be less mad if they were longer lasting regional Chinese cultures like BaShu instead of civil war factions. They’d still deserve civ spots less than non-Han civs like Bai and Tibetans, but it’d be an improvement.
I’d say the fall of Western Jin and establishment of non-Han kingdoms in the north. Very reminiscent of Germanic kingdoms founded atop the ruins of Western Rome.
Renaming them would fix half the problem. The other issue on the book are their heroes (partly fixed by renaming them to Northern/Southern/Western Warlord).
They have clear locations North, South and West within China and China itself is half as big as Europe so that shouldn’t be hard.
Since we are only talking about like 5 civs that are hard to place it won’t take that much to find a good spot for them.
I don’t think people will struggle that much to find a civ. It’s not that many.
Other two are fine. Only 3 are hard to place.
The issue with Jurchens and Khitans is they are half-baked (no campaign, copypasted the chinese voice lines, and Khitans took a lot from the Tanguts), their legitimacy isn’t questionned.
Jurchens and Khitans are unfinished and of dodgy quality.
I might be more willing to accept the presence of 3K if the Jurchens and Khitans were actually proper civs. As it stands, it’s not worth having 3K around for the two actually medieval civs.
By default the collection of civs doesn’t include Chronicles civs, so 3K will be at the end. You just hit the button right to “Tutte” and you will see.
It already is. Did you guys fact check before speaking? ![]()
Even better, I hide 3K from my civ screen entirely. When the new DLC releases there won’t be a scroll, and I have a rectangle again.
i haven’t opened the game since 3k, so i didn’t know what the current setup is. tbh, since this idea seems to be already implemented, I don’t see the point of this topic.
How the heck did you manage to do this?
Just be skilled enough to understand code, you know. Also in this era, AI will empower you a lot.
One of the best topics in weeks I have to say. I have to implement this ASAP.
Such things are inevitable during the period where AI grows rapidly and people need to catch up. Of course in a corporation as large as MS, there will be stupid leaders having unreal expectations, which leads to such disaster.
It doesn’t conflict with the fact an individual can now build things they never could, by leveraging AI.
