In IV I can set a key for ‘Select All Cavalry’. And one for ‘Select All Melee Infantry’.
And one for ‘Select all Ranged’. And ‘Select all Siege’.
Not finding that in AOMR. There’s a ‘Select Ranged’ but if I hit it I have to hit ANOTHER key to focus on it. None of the ‘Select type of unit’ keys focus. It’s all ‘Press one key to select unit and another key to find it’.
This is not good. Am I doing something wrong? Is there some way to get this to work? Or are the hotkeys just not that user-friendly?
When I select ‘all hero’s’ or ‘all myth units’ same deal. Have to select units with one key and then find them with another key. Double the work for the same effect.
I’m not really getting the issue. I haven’t played age IV, but AOMR does have “select all” keys. It seems that you want that to snap the camera to the units like a “find all” key? I’m not sure how would “find all” look like in action. Like if you have 4 archer units one in each corner of the map and you “find” all, what would you expect to happen?
With select all, they all are selected and you can then give them any command. Most of the time I use select and not find keys as that allows me to stay focused on the action without uneeded camera snapping, so I find the select keys very useful. If I need to find/select specific unit/units they will be in their own control group.
