I think at least house, barracks, archery range and siege workshop should get imperial skin.
For me, I think it should just be the House, Blacksmith, and Monastery that get Imperial Age skin.
Unique dark age skins for each architecture set would be a wonderful idea.
House no doubt should have imperial skin, my suggestion care more of military buildings, as AoE2 is a RTS game which focus more on battle, but your suggestion is not bad too.
I’m not opposed to more imperial age skins, tho I honestly have a bigger issue with the dark age building set.
To me it doesn’t seem like an earlier version of the feudal sets, but rather jumping back to like 5000bc.
The folwark IMO is a dark age building done right.
This was my problem too. It looks like the tool age but not the tool age haha. It’s even funnier looking for Chinese and Roman.
Yeah it just looks like an improvised camp
Something funny I just realized is that a house is a place to live in and yet our villagers can’t hide in it when the enemies come. Anyways yes to imperial houses.
Houses would actually be last on my list to get an Imperial Age skin – it makes more sense for high-status buildings. So I think town centre, market and university are good choices, and I would add monasteries but probably nothing else.
I don’t know what is up with those roofs – it would make more sense if they were thatched.
Different looking houses adds more life to dull towns.looking at you cairo from saracens campaign.

From the stone age to dark ages, they finally learned to live in town centers but not houses haha.
What would make any city in AoE2 cooler especially older cities like Rome is different ages. That is why I started making my Roman cities with Athenian/Spartan houses and buildings. If there was Chronicles for Sinosphere civs, I would love to incorporate those buildings in my Chinese cities.
In case of India, ancient age buildings will be fully wooden except the base stone which is very different from what we see in medieval age which is mostly stony.
