I don’t know who came up with this idea, which hinders the game. In my opinion, I hate that they made this change, which only benefits the Atlanteans, since their villagers collect resources at a faster rate. If you receive an early attack, you risk staying in the 3rd age for the entire game while your rivals can advance to the 4th age and make improvements
They made this change cause - as far as I know - pros complained it’s too easy to get mythic. Especially for what it brings: biggest power spike like in unit upgrades etc
It’s a bit strange when you have 1000 resources and you can’t advance but its still doable and noting crazy like idk 2000 resources
The big one was the god powers. God powers like Earth quake, Lighting storm, Implode, Tornado, Meteor, and Implode can end a game by themselves. These nukes might need a slight nerf.
Please, developers, we need the resource costs to advance to the Mythic Age to be the same as before. Increasing the cost to advance to the Mythic Age only causes players who face two players at the same time to remain in the Heroic Age all game, which is very unfair and hinders the game. I’m sure many players stayed in the Heroic Age without the possibility of advancing to the Mythic Age because of the excessive cost of the Mythic Age. Please, developers listen to the opinions of all players. It is truly frustrating to remain in the Third Age the entire game.
If you’re truly interested in the opinion of all players it might be interesting to do a poll. I for one am very much in favour of the increased cost due to the reasons already outlined.
Yeah it depends on how you see a strategy game. If I can end your base with a mythic GP, why would I not just FM and just focus on resources. Many 3v3’s don’t battle in classical… let alone 4v4.
So I think it was a good balance. I agree it wouldn’t make sense in old AoM, but yeah in Retold it’s a better balance.
I mean, what’s 200 food and 200 gold more, really?
Or the Great Flood or the Blazing Prairie…they literally wipe out everything…
If you have 60 villagers, the 400 extra resources takes around 7 seconds to gather… You really think it is a big deal?
The resource cost was increased so you are paying approriate amount for the godpower and myth unit that comes with aging up. Actually I believe advanding to both age 3 and age 4 should still cost around 25% more, so 1000F600G for heroic and 1500F1500G for mythic. Would open up bit more early age strategies.
Yeah, a lot of the age 4 God Powers need a nice 10 to 20% damage nerf, if not more.
Yes, a good nerf is needed at some point, making them super expensive and taking like 5 minutes to use…
I mean these are not CNC superweapons which require a building to use, reveal their location, and have a massive countdown timer for your opponent to see.
Of course, the only limitation is the cooldown time and the increasingly expensive use of favor…
