Instead of buffing the champi

With the recent nerfs to the champi civs: Inca, Mapuche, Muisca, and Tupi, which I believe are justified some people consider that these civs are now weak. Instead of buffing the champi, how about these buffs?

Inca: extra civ bonus start with llama. Now the Inca get one extra llama for themselves, and just 1 for their allies.

Mapuche: change civ bonus: Forage Bushes drop off 20% extra food and last 20% longer (can be adjusted).

Muisca: extra civ bonus: trees last 25% longer.

Tupi: civ bonus change: get 25 of all resources per town center constructed. Your starting town center automatically gives you it in dark age.

Isn’t the Mapuche bonus both a faster collection and a long-lasting bonus?

I still think that changing the Champi could be the solution. I now conceptionally have an idea in my head that could work without nerfing their Speed or Train time (from what it was originally).

The concept is that It would have -1 melee armor from the start. Mapuche and Muiscas Champi bonusses would be extended to dark age. So Mapuches Champi would start with 5 HP more, Muiscas with 1-1 = 0 melee armor. Tupi and Inca would have the basic version, so they would have a very bad unit that would lose to all other scout units. They can make the crush in compensation for that.

It’s a concept in work/progress, I will at some point come with a complete one.

So I made the design for the Runner with negative melee Armor. Was actually quite simple.

Champi Scout
Attack 3
HP 35
Melee Armor -1
Bonus v Cav 2
Bonus v Camel 2
Bonus v Shock 2

All other values can be turned back to the original version before the last patch.

Muisca and Mapuche civ specific Bonusses can be extended to Dark Age. So Muisca get +1 Melee Armor, negating the negative one and Mapuche just flat 5 HP.

(Note that I deliberately reduced the Bonus v Shock also, because I want to restore the original Speed. Meso civs in the early game also have no real answer to the Champis, so at least the unupgraded variant would be not as strong against Eagles (just slightly losing without bonusses, muisca actually win and mapuche are even).

(except the outpost construction time changes, i think they are actually fine as they are now)

Inca: extra sheep isn’t much of a bonus to compensate for several weaknesses. Maybe food discounts can be buffed back to 15,20,25,30.

Mapuche: 20% dropoff automatically implies 20% more food in the same amount of time. Again not enough to compensate the extremely weak tech tree. But like others have mentioned this civ can be fine if it gets bombard canons or bracer and skirm passthrough is removed as a compensation.

Muisca - Extremely weak bonus. Wood lasting 25% longer is just 2-3% extra gather rate until imperial age. This civ is garbage in imperial age. Ideal bonus for this civ will be extra work rate around the settlement. Something like 8%.

Tupi - 25 of each resource from every tc is decent but again won’t be enough to mask all the weaknesses. Maybe military techs cost -50% food or barrack and range techs cost -50% (not just food). And the civ must get thumb ring while base rof of non-elite poison archers is nerfed.

Lastly all these civs must get good monks since they don’t have a conversion resistant fast melee unit and potentially some free monk tech or siege bonus.
