nonsense, not only the people who are negative are the loudest, other games out there welcome this kind of thing. you certain dont represent everyone on a forum that probably only has 1/100th of the total player base of AOE.
if you dont like it that is fine, I am simply stating that I would rather pay for this kind of thing rather than animated GIF.

Maybe you could post this on r/aoe2 and see if they like it there. I don’t know about other aoe2 communities
not sure but I knew ahead of time that due to the player base of AOE2 are likely to be adults so these type of things aren’t welcomed as much as what you would get say from Dota2 or League players which are younger in general.
think about it, if the game can make money why wouldnt they do it? there are ton of stuff we dont like but they do it anyway of course for expanding the game to get player base and more attention

This is never going to happen. How do you still not see the problem? Anything which obstructs the opponent’s view could give you a competitive edge, so it would class as cheating, no matter how you try to dress it up.
thats always a must. however we know their track record, put out new shining toys while keeping the fixes on the lower priority side, and new toys will 100% break more stuff so its a given.
its happening right now in terms of mod, never is a long time which I doubt they’d refuse if theres enough player base for it.
further more you clearly have no understanding of how mod works. everyone has had their input and they can all be addressed with current in game feature already, such as transparency, opacity, graphic layers.
if you dont like it just say u dont like it lmao dont make excuses that can be addressed with fixes/workarounds.
spam = add timer/cooldown
vision obstruction = transparency/opacity on the lower end, graphical layer below units/buildings.
New shining toys have always been campaigns and civs. That’s what they know it sells. MAYBE, skins in the medium future.
