Once again I played a ranked team match (4 vs. 4 on Dark Forest) and for absolutely no reason a team mate started to wall my TC and started to build siege workshops next to it. Obviously he wanted to build magonels to destroy my town and my villagers. But before he could start, I just quit the game, because I’m totally fed up.
I’m not into recording the matches. I just never wanted to watch one of my own matches. So I got no idea if they are recorded automatically or something like that. So please, if anyone is able to do so, look it up if my last match was recoreded and visible to everyone.
And then please tell me why:
WHY THE F DO PEOPLE THIS…
NO, THIS IS THE WRONG QUESTION!
MICROSOFT AND AOE2DE EMPLOYEES:
DOOOOOOO FINALLY SOMETHING AGAINST THIS S**T!!!

They can’t predict everything people will do. Maybe teammate was trying to protect you from eventual/potential enemy onslaught?
Would you enjoy playing single player matches vs. AI? or team up w/ friend against AI or online? If so, that may be a temporary solution to issue until the propensity of this happening to you declines or some safeguard is possibly put in place if it’s a widespread issue. If the ‘report a player’ feature is no good, non-specific, or ineffective (i.e., devs never look at them), then that could be improved and possibly the answer.
Personally, I hope they don’t start restricting teammates from building close to teammates. At least not in unranked private games vs. AI or friends. I think it’s good etiquette, though, to try not to encroach too much on or clutter up teammate territory… even if the reasons are benign – or to ask for permission first, if there’d be any doubts on where you plan to place stuff.
I enjoy AoE2 for it not putting build limits everywhere like AoE3 does… which is partly why I don’t like playing AoE3.
For online ranked games with randoms, maybe a 5- or 10-square perimeter around teammate’s TCs could do the trick, if it’s really a widespread issue. As long as that only gets implemented for ranked games and doesn’t get implemented for private/unranked games friends have with each other
Ranked games already are recorded automatically. You can find the recs in a tab in saved games

What do you want the devs to do, exactly? Did you report the player after the game? If not, I don’t think the devs could do anything.

The game has a player report button. Just use it, they can’t change player behavior, if you don’t let them know, which players to look at.
( Witch hunting is forbidden, use the in-game report, or send a ticket to the support, including your replay ! )
