I know English is not your first language, nor is it mine, but you often say things that sound confident like “they will” which are in reality just wild guesses.
That makes some people that don’t know you think you are leaking inside knowledge or something.
If you and a “maybe”, “hopefully” or something like that it will be more obvious that you are just making a guess or prediction.
I don’t think that would work well because it’s 19th century stuff.
How would you make a Cthulhu pantheon? What human units would they have?
Seems strange.
AoMR changes a lot more about the base game then AoE1/2/3DE did, especially on release.
AoE3DE added a lot of changes over time but still not as much as AoMR, and that’s just the release version of AoMR.
The Atlanteans for example have a completely new Favour generation mechanic, nothing like that was done in any of the Definitive Editions.
Every AoE3DE civ kept their unique mechanics, they were just adjusted, rebranded or visually improved.
Like Dutch Settlers still cost Coin instead of Food but they also have a unique name and model to represent this uniqueness better.

where the AoM 2 part will come with future content.

We will see.
It is hard to do an AoM2 since every civilisation is so unique that you could put a civilisation with an AoE1/2/3/4 techtree into AoMR and it would kinda work.
Hmm… i would make Yog-Sothoth, Shub-(censored for some reason) and Nyarlathotep as the major gods. Minor gods would be any of the myriad eldritch beings in Cthulhu mythos.
As for human units, I dunno. Maybe any crazed followers of the Great Old Ones across the universe?
Good collation of stories on Hindu mythology with sections on various Major/Minor Gods and Goddesses. Useful for discussions/concepts on Hindu pantheon DLC for AOM.
I’m also in favor for Romans, In fact I would love see the romans in game, but I also agree that there are more mythologies that could bring more flavor to the game and should be added first.
Examples: Aztecs, Japanese, Hindus, Mesopotamians, maybe even Inuit and Polynesian Mythology, who knows.
Yes, but I say this for later, when they have run out of fictional mythologies…

I think it’s fine. Retold is meant to be more then just DE and also I don’t think many original fans are disappointed with the changes or hate them. AoM didn’t age that well, and just DE would feel lucklaster. They also realize that making AoM:DE would negatively impact any potential sequel, so they are choosing middle ground → remake that serves both as AoM DE and AoM 2 - light, where the AoM 2 part will come with future content. Which again makes sense as AoE2DE, AoE3DE are still getting support and content, so DE were for both only the start and in both cases they changed already so much, including full civ reworks… so they are not really recognizable with original games. So if anything DE is just fake marketing, both AoE2 & AoE3 are same as Retold. Retold just doesn’t pretend at the start that it’s DE and goes full on remake and changes to enhance the original fantasy of the game.

Yes, I agree… I think that for now it should be just another DE, adding new mythologies, and then in the future AoM 2 it should be more aggressive and include things from AoE 4…
Yes, that’s how it is, I’m using Google Translate… and yes, almost everything I say is just assumptions I make based on the information I find…
Yes, the Cthulhu mythos is more about the myths of rural villages from the 19th century, Bloodborne draws heavily from Lovecraft but has a Victorian gothic and steampunk vibe… a civ like that would be strange to see in AoM Retold, but in an AoM 2 set in a later period it could be…
Yes, with AoMR they reworked all the civs and we haven’t even seen the Chinese yet…
Yes, I think it will take a long time to release AoM 2 (late 2020s or early 2030s)…
Yes, that’s a good one…maybe a Tibetan civilization but with 19th century steampunk concepts…
Yes, they will eventually arrive later in the next few years…
Yes, I saw it… it could be that Lemuria is the ancestor of the Atlanteans in the game and when it sank due to a tidal wave similar to that of Atlantis by the giants, the Atlanteans moved in search of a new home crossing the Cape of Good Hope until they reached the Atlantis of the game…
The Titan Theia, goddess of sight, ruled over Lemuria, the most loyal and advanced of Atlantean colonies. The Lemurians were tall and lithe, but were best known for their keen vision - a boon from their patron goddess. They were employed as scouts alongside Oracles for much of the Atlantean empire. The island of Lemuria was destroyed when the brother giants Ephialtes and Otus piled up mountains to reach Olympus, including the mountainous Lemuria.
According to this map they could be ancestors of Dravidians, Mongols (although I would save those for a Tengri civilization), Malays, Australians and Blacks (Kaffres and Bantus)…
The recent update removed some lines of code for the Chinese and Japanese that followed the same ones for the Greeks, Egyptians, Norse and Atlanteans. Seems like a good indication the second DLC could very well be the Japanese.
Japanese being the second dlc is a good sign for things to come. It means they are taking the regional approach of age of empires 3. To me this means that there will be many new pantheons to come.
Lemurian would be a fun thing to explore via new civ or campaign
Not sure if they will stay in the same regions between DLC. Just AoE3DE is happening to do that now with a second European DLC but that is after a long time of no DLC.
I admit that I’d rather the next DLC civilization after China come from a much more distant geographic region than Japan (e.g. Mesoamerica, Mesopotamia, or West Africa). However, if the Japanese were to enter AoMR, I think I know what they might base their Titan on.
In terrain_vfx_properties.xml, whatever that does. There’s code for all four cultures, and there used to be code for the Chinese and Japanese, but they silently removed that in the first patch. I found it because I was comparing the file changes out of curiosity as there are some other fixes not listed in the patch notes.
Yes, there were missing Asian mythologies… China and Japan can be interesting like “The Asian Mythologies” (Japan is super popular in the saga)… then the third DLC would be India to complete the Far East… and then you focus on America in the next 2-3 years (Aztecs, Incas, Mississippians, Puebloans)
Yes, the same, it’s okay, since it’s a thematic continuity…
Persia and Babylon in a Middle East DLC pack would be amazing…you could have a mythological Opis battle…
It’s a shame they couldn’t have made big expansions adding several civilisations at once, because releasing them one at a time is pretty slow and not very commercial. In my opinion, it would have been better to release them as follows with 9 majors New gods each Time :
The video was taken down due to a copyright claim from Microsoft. From what I gather it gave info about the, at the time, upcoming game release (campaign changes) and post-release game modes (Arena of the Gods).
