For Jeanne d’Arc, the “Royal Institute” Landmark has a cheaper version of the “Merchant Guilds” research, which you can get at the Market (or “Chamber of Commerce” Landmark).

If you research “Merchant Guilds” at the “Royal Institute”, the Market (and “Chamber of Commerce”) version disappears as expected.

However, if you research “Merchant Guilds” at a Market (or “Chamber of Commerce”), the “Royal Institute” version can still be researched (to no effect and wasting resources).
