Everything I’m going to say next is pure conjecture, I handle the same information as you guys.
Well, first of all, it is not known if it will be released today. Normally, the updates come out on Tuesdays, but I have seen that they have come out on Wednesdays and Thursdays as well (very rare). And schedule? Well, if I had to launch a window (from my own experience), between 12:00 and 15:00 GMT-3, but this also fluctuates, they have published an update at midnight.
New update, more announcement of a DLC (my guess).
I hope so, because I think they are adapting the game in some way to add new content.
I don’t mean to be rude, but what subject? There’s been no new info about the patch in ages, and people already theorized everything they could about what we got to see in the PUP.

Anyway patch is out on monday, I’m looking forward to trying new russia and maltas culverin with poison damage should be interesting and after making about 50 posts on inca the huaracas have finally got more range.
Indeed, the Maltese Royal Guard culverine “Basilisk” takes poison damage. But why?
Did Maltese and the Basilisk guns really use poisoned shells historically?
Or is it simply a misrepresentation of something like an incendiary bomb?
Historically no, the Maltese during the Great Siege poisoned wells - no cannon balls. They also fired captured Turkish soldiers’ heads back to the invaders (due to the Turks’ actions with captured Maltest knights), though who know’s if that brought disease or anything…
Anyway, could just be astracted as many things! (though quite why it’s just for Malta is another question!)

It doesnt seems so. Patch notes will be avaliable early in the week, and the actual patch will be released the same week, from Inferno Galore messages on discord.
Why do we think the update is dropping on Monday?
Because they said it will be updated early next week, so the only day inside July is Monday.
It’s not the patch itself but the patch notes on Monday, the patch will be unleashed later in the week.
Now it’s pretty clear that they do not want overlaps between updates. They leave a gap as long as one day between the updates of 2 and 4. So considerate.
In truth, how many studies have three simultaneous franchise games to promote and maintain?

And it must be such a hard task that they have to delay a patch finished a month and a half ago for a month and a half.
Wicked Witch for AoE 2 DE, Tantalus Media for AoE 2 DE and 3 DE, Relic for AoE 4 and FE and WE for the entire saga…
And when Retold comes out there will be 4 games: 2 DE, 3 DE, 4 and Retold…
