Knights Templar

Knights Templar, constantly ignored for the most part, strong in age 4, but getting there is a struggle… aging up and losing villagers is one hit, aging up and no building is another issue, other teams get buildings that apply permanent healing, free resource and other cool buffs. Yes we get a perk and a new unit, but that’s my next issue. The cool unique units are expensive, combined with an awful slow eco makes for a painful feudal and early castle. Then affording the castles once you’re usually behind and being harassed is painful, then not having map control ever makes pilgrims useless until mid castle. Basically the early game for this civ needs help. The chandelier knights (I’m aware that’s incorrect name) are cheaper, but SOOOOOO BAR! The axe throwers are too expensive to ever get enough, knight hospitaller are ok, then the heavy spears, useless, use normal ones, the geonese cross bows are 90 gold which is insane, nearly the same cost as streltsy that does double damage and fires faster with a melee attack also. Then tuglaq, forts for 400 and further stone to buff it up,great idea that would help KT. Also more castle buffs that could spawn some men to help with awful eco? Anything to help with the early game. Age 4 no issues. But until then, it’s a struggle. And before I get told to get good, I’m conq 2 sitting at 1550 points. This civ only works lower league where it’s slow pace, but higher up it’s impossible around Malians, ottoman, or anyone really Thoughts?

It’s an outrage! It’s totally boring playing civs that just constantly out boom, the amount of games where I have killed a lot more army than my opponent and traded fairly equal to the eco… and cannot keep up with troops, trying to spend so much resource on forts but unable to protect them often… and trade, civs get trade that’s arguably better than pilgrims, I guess it’s more expensive, but picking a trade route and having 40 traders get gold. 50 vils on food, and you will SMASH KT almost definitely, deny pilgrims and win the game easy.

Saying this having Malians in the game, one of the least picked civs is savage

They’re not picked because they’re bad. They’re not picked because you needed high APM. Malians are seriously good, irrelevant if people pick them or not.

Well not. I have won games with KT so is more of a Skill Issue I guess

I’m happy to play you l, I’m conq 2 currently. KT lower league is good where the pace is slow, anything from sort of high plat, KT on land is slow slow slow… so slow that you struggle to stay in the game. Of corse you can win… but in even match ups of skill, higher league KT isn’t viable. I’ll have to assume from you comment you’re a gold where KT win rate comes from. I’d also imagine you’re down there and that’s why you see little of Malian too.

Well thats true KT shine on low leagues. On the other hand, Malians are very decent even on high ones

So actually agree, KT is bad against players who know how to play the game… I’m not asking for big buffs, but something early game to help them get going is really needed. 2TC as the only viable strat, when they’re not even the best at it, it’s awful, the piece of units to a slow eco is not fun in high leagues. I promise you that.

Yes please, their feudal is extremely painful. Also Conditierro need a big buff, they’re completely useless even against gunpowder which is too niche to begin with.
