Hello Insiders,

The 100K invites to the AoE:DE closed beta being sent out next Monday, January 29th, will be the last beta invites sent for AoE:DE before release on February 20th. Source

For everyone who registered as an Age of Empires Insider before last Friday, January 19th, and has not yet received a survey invitation email and completed the survey, the survey must be completed as soon as possible because the team will be picking the 100K invites on Friday, January 26th.

For everyone who registered as an Age of Empires Insider on or after last Friday, January 19th, unfortunately you have missed the cut-off to be invited to the AoE:DE closed beta. You can still pre-order the game to participate in the closed beta until the closed beta ends, which has not yet been announced.

If you have any questions, please ask. I’ll reply to this post with answers from the team on social media and the blog with more information once it becomes available.

TLDR

  • All beta participants are invited to stream the beta between January 29th and February 5th.
  • The beta ends February 5th.

So I preordered the game today. I downloaded the beta and I can open the app but I can’t sign in. I’m signed in to a number of Microsoft apps and they all have my xbox username and outlook email address. Is this the reason I can’t sign into the beta? I’ve tried a number of times last night and today, just to check out the game. I got 3 quests on my insider app, but again I can’t sign in so I can’t complete step 2 to do the quest. Could you help me out of let me know I’m shut out until the game is released. Thanks.

If you can see the quests you are signed into the app. Under Insider Content did you click “Join” and then “Show in store”?

I show joined under the insider content, then clicked show in store, clicked play from the store and/or from the start menu. Closed beta build 4838 (sorry pic is from earlier build yesterday) open, flashes microsoft splash screen, green ancient building then stained glass. I get the start menu for the game and a sign in pop up. You need to sign in to continue, click sign in and it just comes back. Stuck.

Hello i preordered the game at 29.1.2018. but i cant play the beta? Can someone advice me, every time i start the game it says i will be released at xxxxxxx. So how can i play the beta?

The pre-order and the beta are two separate apps.

I just see the splash screen and the the app self closes… :frowning:
