There was no good reason to remove it, the current Saguenay was originally a fanmade map called Hudson Bay doesn’t have the same properties as the original. The water surface is wider, the resources are different and there’s islands on the water. While the original was more compact and had 4 belugas per player so 8 in a 1v1 and all the way up to 32 in a 4v4. If you want to give Hudson Bay the name of Saguenay that’s fine but at least keep the original Saguenay in the game with a different name in that case.

Era desbalanceado el antiguo mapa por eso lo cambiaron, Tendrian que hacer dps Saguenay, uno para competitivo y otro para partidas casuales
It was just about restricting the amount of resources on water for sup games, regardless just because a map isn’t going to be featured in tournaments or other more serious games isn’t a reason to remove a map, you’d have to remove a lot more maps than Saguenay then and even maps that are currently included in the quicksearch map pool. Saguenay was one of the most popular water maps in the original game it’s not appropriate to remove it or any other map for that matter just because the developers couldn’t be bothered to give the map another or name Hudson Bay something other than Saguenay.

I dont really see how it was unbalanced. Even if it was just make the placement different to balance it. It was a fun map and the cree and huron settlements made it more fun aswell.

La solucion de tu peticion es bastantemente simple solo necesitas apoyo para que los desarolladores atiendan esto, pero sostengo que el antiguo saguenay debe ser un mapa casual y no competitivo
Sinceramente no lo recuerdo muy bien, no habia mucho espacio para replegarse despues de un empuje y la facilidad que tenian para sorprender por atras con una movilizacion de tropas por agua
Since this thread, we’ve had Update 54545 removing the starting buildings from Texas, and spinning off a version that keeps the starting buildings called Texas Frontier.
I wonder if we can get a similar treatment for the original Saguenay.
