So many civilizations to ad. We can hope of one medieval DLC by year (the other will be for Chronicles), 3 or 4 civilizations by year seem realistic.
I will order in world region and DLC
Africa
This continent is now almost empty with only 3 civilizations. More architectural set are needed and regional unit, specially for the southern part of the continent who lack cavalry.
Sahel DLC
- Benin
- Ghana
- Kanem Burnu
- Songhaï
East Africa DLC
- Nubian
- Swahili
- Somalian
Southern Africa
- Kongo
- Shona
America
Andean DLC
I wanted the Chimu in the last DLC.
- Chimu
- Wari
Caribbean DLC
A DLC with a new architectural set : tropical america (given also for the Tupi)
- Arawak (Hatuey campaign)
- Guarani
Central American DLC
- Chichimec
- Maya split ?
- Mixtec
- Purepecha (opponent of the Aztec)
- Tlaxcalan (mesoamerica civilization with gunpowder)
- Toltec
- Zapotec
North American DLC
We need two architectural set, one for the Pueblo, the other for the Haudenosaunee and Mississippian.
- Haudenosaunee
- Mississippian
- Pueblo
Asia
Chinese DLC
The 3 Kingdoms was a mess because this was not the DLC wanted by the community (we wanted a DLC with campaign who take place in the XIIth century. Here a DLC with more civilizations with proper voiceline (for the Jurchen or Khitan). And split the Khitangut in Khitan and Tangut. Also a new architectural set is required for the chinese and another for eastern architectural set) Tubetan can also have their own architectural set.
- Bai (Yunnan, Nanzoa)
- Khitan
- Tangut
- Tibetan
India DLC
I don’t know many about India history but in this large part of the world there is space for more civilizations. Also the architectural set of the Puru in Chronicles can be used because those building date from the middle age and not from the Antiquity.
Korean-Japanese DLC
A DLC featuring early medieval Korea and japan with the return of two civilization of AOE1 who are later fort eh antiquity period : the Choson and Yamato. (We can reuse their civilization theme from AoE1 like the Roman one who are the same in AoE2 and RoR). We already discuss about this in another topic. Some other japanese factions are added like the Ainu and the Ruy Kyu. For the architectural set just change the wall because he his too chines like.
- Ainu/Emishi
- Choson/Silla
- Ruy Kyu ?
- Yamato
Middle east DLC
We keep the Saracen they will represent the Egyptian/Mameluke.
- Afghan (with zamburak UU, or at least make this unit regional replacement for the scorpion)
- Outremer (crusader state with cavalry knight templar and hospitalier as UU. There is a good civilization like this in AoE4)
- Various arab civilizations
South east Asia DLC
Champa were the major opponent of the Vietnamese and Khmer. Also Tagalog will ad a Philippine civilization. We can make various civilization with interesting unit. Maybe UU equipped with Kris, Kampilan (better suited for warfare tahnt a karambit who are only a few centimeter in reality). Also the warrior of the Philippines weared beautiful armors (search for Ifugao warrior, Moro warrior), here a picture of a rope armor strengthened by wax and used by the Ifugao people. I see her in a museum years ago (another good picture of a shield here in an article about an exposition). Also maybe making the thirisadaï a regional unit and also a cetbang canon.
- Champa
- Thaï
- Tagalog
Steppe
Many civilizations here. I didn’t list the Uighur because after beating the Göktürks they submit to every other ruler of the steppe, not very interesting. A good ocasion to add a eastern architectural set (for tyhe western architectural set see the Russian DLC). I put the Yakut because some day ago one member of the forum did a proposal about this civilization and that looked good, They will feature the siberian peoples.
- Göktürks
- Sogdian
- Xianbei
- Yakut
The most hated DLC ever
After the tremendous success of the Thre kingdoms DLC I want a DLC featuring all the chinese factions, petty kingdoms and warlords of the chinese history : the Northern and Southern dynasties, the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the Sixteen Kingdoms
- Various and countless chinese factions who didn’t last many years.
Europe
Balkan DLC
A wanted DLC and a good occasion to ad a Byzantine architectural set. Croats are my least preferred civilization here.
- Albanian
- Croat
- Serb
- Vlachs (they already have a campaign)
British isles DLC
The actual Britons and Celts represent the English and the Scottish. Good occasion to ad a Alfred the great saxon campaign.
- Irish
- Picts
- Welch
Charlemagne DLC
Charlemagne was a mighty conqueror, he need more that a simple scenario. The two last Charlemagne remaining adversary who are not in game are the Lombard and the Avar (but I think than the Avar can be played by the Huns). Maybe we can merge this DLC with one in the Holy Roman Empire.
- Lombards
Holy Roman Empire DLC
Not many ideas here. I will just say that the Teuton must not be reworked, they are good in the actual situational. Maybe a civilization featuring the Hanseatic League with bonus for their hulk and Landsknecht for UU. For Austria and the Dutch it’s too early for the AoE2 period (maybe in AoE3 for the austrian)
- Hanseatic league
Iberian DLC
The actual Spanish represent the castillan kingdom. With the caravel becoming a regional unit replacing the galley line and the spannish reworked to ad the war dog as trainable unit.
- Al Andalous
- Basque (Navara kingdom)
- Catalan (Aragonese kingdom, Catalan company campaign)
Italian / Swiss DLC
A late middle age DLC. I put the Swiss here because they fought many in the Italian Renaissance wars. the Venetian are more naval focused that the other Italians (ad them the Condotiero, but not as a team bonus)
- Swiss
- Venetian
Migration period DLC
The DLC I want ! Featuring the civilization who lack in the fall of Rome. The Vandals will be added (the 90th years old Gaiseric need more than a scenario). Suebi also are mandatory because they build a powerful kingdom in Iberic peninsula. As a third civilization tha Alans. The two other barbarian kingdoms (Burgundians ans Alamans) shortly faded out history being conquered by Clovis and his sons.
For the campaigns Gaiseric (Vandals + Alans), Agiulf (Suebi) Clovis (best conqueror of the period and this was the time were the axe thrower were in ues) Aegidus campaign (last roman campaign, take the one made by Manu la capuche)
- Alans
- Suebi
- Vandals
Russian DLC
A DLC focused on the actual Russia territory. The Slavs represent the ancient Rus they still have no campaign but now most of their adversary are now in the game : Lithuanians, Mongols, Poles, Varangian, Tatars, Teutons. Finns will represent al the Finnish peoples, last chance to ad them in the game. Khazar are interesting because they fight against the kievan rus and the Arabs and ally with the Byzantine. The moscovian represent the late russian with gunpowder like those in AoE4 (strelet UU).
Also this DLC will be a good occasion to ad a western steppe architecture (Mongols, Khitan and Tangut build chinese like building, no good for civilizations of the western steppe like the Huns).
- Finns
- Khazar
- Moscovian
Oceania
Oceania DLC
The good thing with the addition of the Tupi is that there are a neolithic people without horse, gunpowder and even metal. The devs achieve to put a neolithic people to stand against civilization ingame who are more technologically advanced, now they can do the same for an oceanian DLC. Here I put the Tiu Tonga to represent the polynesian, Maori are appart, I put them beacause I want to see taiaha warrior and moa in game. Microbnesan can be godo with a castele featuring Nan Madol and their warriro woth rope armor and shark teeth weapon.
- Micronesian
- Maori
- Tiu Tonga (cental polynesian)
