Let’s unify list of unfixed bugs/new desired features here

Hey all,

Just wanted to provide a list of unfixed bugs that my friends and I found during the gameplay.

This is not an official list of monitored bugs. It is just an attempt of trying to keep an eye on the most important bugs and not lose track of them.
If you discover a bug report that isn’t yet linked here, feel free to post it below.

Let’s try to unify everything here to help DEVs to look at one single post to retrieve all encountered bugs and desired features!

Bugs List/New features:

  • Health unit bars need to be clearer
  • Auto-attack actions on units should be smoother (e.g. following and attacking someone with A, unless it’s out of sight (in the fog of war))
  • The camera needs to be fixed on high mountains (it’s too zoomed in)
  • The camera also needs to be fixed on water and sometimes on land (e.g. I ctrl+1 some units (to group them) and then I click 1, what happens is that sometimes it just goes to the last event instead of going to my group of units, 1, in this case))
  • Client needs to be smoother and clearer (I can’t even understand when I’m in a group? :slight_smile:), the party should be something like League of Legends client lobby
  • Give the possibility to choose a colour before playing
  • A way to private message in-game
  • How units interact with each other is a bit clunky (not consistent with enemy and ally units)
  • Leaderboard in-game when the ranked system is live
  • Hitboxes are buggy, needs to be more precise (an anchorage system needs to be implemented)
  • Waypoint from the sky instead of being a line coming from buildings
  • Customizable Hotkeys
  • A training/practice tool/mod where you can test some counter units and strategies quicker (like the practising tool in League of Legends)
  • Reporting overview at the end needs to be improved and bugfixed (when you finish a match and go back to the match history sometimes you need to log out and log in again to see the correct match history (because an old one is provided). Graphs need to always show the same colour used in-game. All of the ages need to be shown on the graphs. On the Statics overview, all of the ages need to be shown too, not just until age III
  • Bug for quite a few users: crackling sound as per Reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/aoe4/comments/qhzo2g/my_sound_is_crackling/ (even if all sounds are disabled there is still a mosquito zzzzzzzz going around,lol)
  • Reconnect feature

Please for the love of god fix prelate healing. Prelates are almost entirely useless in battle b/c they walk to the attack move desitination and only then start healing. It should honestly be the most important bug under the relic bug for Rus

Look brother, there will be no big fixing of allllll this issues. What i would recommend you is to just live it up. This game is not Age of Empires 2. At first me too i was being critic, but then I realised it’s not the same team working on this game. Unlike the older title, this is more of a modern rts taking straws from Age of Empires franchise to adapt to a modern, younger audience.

Is the game bad? No, not really. It’s a good game.
But by no means it’s supposed to be the genre-changer that AoE became. This is a different time and era for the rts and this company surely did not have the budget nor the time to make a game comparable.

The winter patch will fix a lot of bugs and issues , the prelate bug is going to be fixed and more things are going to be fixed in future updates too.

theres a lot more bugs then this

you havent included any civ specific bugs (long list for abb for example, probably the most bugs on one civ currently, even if HRE fan bois will make you think otherwise)

the attack interruption to increase attack rates on scouts and trebs

wall bugs

foundation scouting in fog of war

thats just quickly off the top of my head

This post is meant to help the devs to see most of the bugs/new features that we recognize.

Additional bug: statistics in general (at the end of the game) need to be fixed, they are super random numbers sometimes and and not really clear (e.g. largest army 186? never had just 14 villagers; %map explored 0%? how? lol)

Deer carcass blocking something to build - Carcass should be visible even in FOG so u know if u can/cannot build on that place - In reality all the villagers you moved to build something walk all they way into the carcass only to find on that exactl place they cannot build.

Mostly happens to me when I want to build a marketplace on the corner of map or some landmark

I do not recommend to make an building on carcass viable - or maybe untill the building is finished cause you could simply deny enemy hunt near to his base only by building foundation across whole map.
