First of all they make a revolution strat entirely worthless as you can now just play the Americans.
Then here the list of what we know now the Americans have which is what other civs already had, but better, because Murica.
Book shipment (Fack Spain, yay another Spanish mechanic not being unique anymore)
Settler wagon (Fack Germany, doesnt matter its a shipment, as Germanies main Settler wagon income is also via homecity)
Coureur des bois (Fack France, it doenst even only said 3 vills, but then also upgrades them or in other words 10x better, it doesnt matter it costs 200 wood as it is worth it and easily earned back)
3 factories (â– â– â– â– all Europeans and South Africa, like why do they even get them in age III? First the US didnt exist yet and second the industrial revolution began in Britain, not US)
Space marines (â– â– â– â– all musketeers, ashikaru 2.0)
Space marines sniper edition (â– â– â– â– all skirmishers, lets make a yumi 2.0)
Banks (â– â– â– â– Dutch and Japanese unique consulate, what? Banks are your thing? well now they ours aswell)
Homecity deck (â– â– â– â– aaall civs, lets just have more cards)
General (â– â– â– â– explorers and warchiefs lets just combine them into one)
Gatling gun (Fack all revolutions and Portugueze, lets just add facking machine guns which dont need reloading with a card)
State militia (fack sioux tekola warrior)
Economy upgrades cheaper (â– â– â– â– dutch, lets just make them entirely free!)
Second church (Fack France, wait churches were your thing? Well now its ours too)
Honestly US looks also like a civ with an existential crisis not knowing what it wants to be, resulting in being everything at ones, like it is European, but its not, but it isnt a hybrid either it looks like a challanged civ.
And do not forget that South Africa pays for that 3rd Factory, by not having the Imperial unit upgrades, but the USA will still have them, no problem!
It is more like a Super Caçador, from Kripton, and with Cataphractti Power Armour on top of the laser-sighted 21st century sniper rifle.
And do not forget that the second Church gives them an upgrade to make Churches give a 2.50 Coin trickle, which is more than Banks, and they still give XP trickle on top of it. (Fakk the Dutch all the way to Hell, to the boiler room of Hell)
You also forgot Advanced Arsenal that not only gives you an Arsenal Wagon, but makes all upgrades free, and it is still ok if they take 3 times as long to research, because dropping another 2 Arsenals will still be cheaper than actually paying for all those upgrades.
After watching more aussie drongo (cant believe he is so excited as US literaly breaks the game) the immigrant cards become more and more bs.
They literaly copy the unique mechanic of every civ they are from. There is just no reason to play any other civ. You like Spanish for fast shipments and better melee units? Well Us got you covered, with the immigrant card you get better pikeman as minuteman and their books plus xp rate will make sure you are on top of the Spanish shipment bonus.
(also just typing this makes me feel hurt, I cant think of anything that Spain does what can be found fun in the sense of mechanics except for the shipments.)
You want to be Dutch because you like the banks and focus on ranged cavalry and skirms? Well US got you covered, not only do we turn our churches into banks, we also get straight up banks, gather faster and also do longer with mines, have so many coin tikle rates you will have like 15 offmap villagers on coin. Then for the units we got a better dragoon and also most likely ruyter and a sharpshooter which outranges(!?!?) skirmishers.
I actually like the gimmick of the USA being able to get a little bit of each civ’s bonuses. It makes sense as the USA is essentially a nation of immigrants and a massive cultural melting pot. Balance wise, however, they do seem to be pretty OP.
The 3 Factories thing should be also available for Britain, France and Germany too, with some other bonus to the remaining civs for balance. Or just allow all European civs to be able to order 3 factories.
A interesting way to balance the Immigrants would be to add some sort of penalty to the US’s normal settlers. Either have then be more expensive, take longer to train or have a lower build limit for them. This way the player is encouraged to bring immigrants to expand their economy since it’s normal settlers are limited.
This just makes the US even more pointless, they have bonuses from all euro civs basically and that is what makes them “unique”, they’re a “greatest hits” civ. When you revolted to US you retained certain bonuses from your mother country making the main US civ redundant and blatant fan-service.
The fact that all defense for the US civ is a bunch of “whataboutism” arguments is really telling.
“Well we already have [insert historical inaccuracy here] so… MURICA!!!”
Not sure if you guys saw this, but it seems the Imperial eco upgrades only give 40% increase. If they have the same tech tree as other Europeans, this would be one thing they have a disadvantage (possibly balancing the other eco bonuses?)
