Lion Heart and Other AOE III Influencers: Favoritism Ruins Balance for Everyone

I like Lion Heart, I’m a revolt stan too, just like LH. Last patch, revolts got nerfed. But Lion Heart loves AoE3DE is just like is who are AoE3fans, I’m very grateful about he continues to make AoE3DE content.

going after lion heart is counterproductive, what you aren’t seeing here is the long term balancing, every single civ has received fair share of buffs, nerfs and readjustments over the years, ethiopia received at least a few buffs prior the recent nerfs, what i don’t want is another content creator deserting 3 DE like drongo ended up doing, lion did plenty of free marketing for us all instead of going after the bigger games in the franchise for big money

100% agree on Ethiopia insane unreasonable abun batch nerf exactly as prescribed by lionheart and also -40% heal rate and heal range making it completely useless + the big benny also hugely nerfed.

Bro I don’t think Lion gives a single shit about some random Forum guy accusing him of something

I think he’s got a valid point that influencers have influences on a lot of patch balancing decisions. I am under similar impressions cuz I am following a number of influencers as well.

Considering their primary focus on 1v1 ranked games on the ladder, their opinions may not be a perfect representations for majority of AOE3 players.

An impression is not a fact. Lionheart wouldn’t want revolts to be nerfed and yet they were in the same patch. These are just wild accusations.

No you are right. They did okay with USA. I retract my statement for that civ. It was too early to make that determination. They didnt do far enough for ottomans though.

You admit to correlation and then require evidence which would be illegal to obtain. That logic combine with your user name shows their no reasoning with some people. 129 people agree with the thesis I explained and followed up with evidence. You can cope as much as want. The fact remains

  1. names? Where are these 129 people?
  2. just because you have x people that agree with you doesn’t make you any more right or wrong on the matter haha

In seriousness, listening to this as someone who has some behind the scenes knowledge, he really doesn’t know what the inner workings are so yes let’s file this thread away as fake news.

Wish I could meet you in real life you seem like cool tough guy

ooo, we needed another strawman

ain’t that the truth

people aren’t saying that streamers and high level players don’t have influence… don’t conflate people’s words

we are saying that claims such as below are absurd

Woah slow down there brother! Let’s go through the logical fallacies one by one so that in the future you can make better arguments.

  1. In Latin we would call it a Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc which really just translates to “after this, because of this”. Meaning that establishing a correlation between two events doesn’t necessitate a relationship of causation. The logical fallacy would be denying the antecedent. So as an example we could say the inversion of your argument is “if lionheart did not release the Ethiopia video then Ethiopia would not be nerfed.” The problem here is that the only correlation established is that of time, the video released before the patch. But that doesn’t establish a relationship between two as an antecedent and consequent and therefore ALSO commits the fallacy of single cause.

  2. Ad hominem. Against the man. You are attacking my name as a way to dismiss the arguments. In a debate you handle the arguments themselves rather than attack me. My name is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

  3. Argumentum ad populum. An appeal to the people. Simply pointing out the amount of likes on a post doesn’t lend credence to the veracity (truthfulness) of an argument. People may like or dislike many different things and make note of it but that doesn’t make it correct.

I pointed to knowledge that would be illegal to obtain to simply point out that since you have no means of gaining this information, you cannot make the assertion that lionheart is at fault for the nerfs. I’m not coping, I just think you can make better arguments and not resort to logical fallacies in the future. Warmest regards!
