Why siege and not archer units? Siege needs to be better against ships?
archer would be cool though it’d be even nicer as a civ bonus so it isn’t super generic
I’m gonna need you to elaborate. Does it give siege extra bonus damage against ships, or defensive structures extra bonus damage against siege?
I meant the bonus attack affect ships and siege
Siege is meant to be good vs defensive structure, why would defensive structure gain bonus vs siege? That would favour turtle plays
I think excluding bonus vs rams would be fine. Towers can fight scorpions and onagers fairly well.

The issue is that any anti-siege bonus affects rams by default, and unlike the ram armor class, the siege class is not negated by the Siege Ram upgrade. Ergo, any bonuses against siege will always do bonus damage to rams.
Uh… How is the damage calculated? I have no idea. Is the heated shot damage reduced by pierce armor?
The wiki says that it is +125% for towers and a flat +4 for Castles, Kreposts, and Harbors. I don’t know if the tower bonus damage is affected by armor, but the Castle bonus definitely isn’t. With Heated Shot researched, there is no possible way rams could ever destroy Castles.
Then castle, harbour and Krepost remain +4 bonus vs only ships. But Towers deal +125% against siege. Rams should still take 1 dmg per shot.
Why should tower do better vs scorpion and mangonels they are fine already
Encourage towers when against mass onagers and make Keeps less situational.
if you do gurad tower upgrade it is already impossible to push with manogel. then if you do keep upgrade it is impossible to push with onager. For siege onager it is a very expensive upgrade, you still have arrowslits, mans+ archi so they can beat siege onager too. Remember a onager is more expensive than a tower. so if you use 10 SO vs 10 fully up keeps the keeps can win. If keeps are not enough for you then bombard tower can one shot an onager
