Maybe a blood dlc is a good idea?

I was in the beta. It was a mess, but it wasn’t too bad. Needs improvement, it’s kind of in the same boat as the current AoE4 state but a little worse. At least it was fun.

SW Battlefront is the highest selling star wars game of all time, lol

Money wasn’t the issue but the originality is.

Unfortunately, the price is the main obstacle for many people.

Yes, i’d rather pay for blood then not have it at all. I find it unbelievable people are upset with Blood DLC’s that are very well done and only cost a few bucks, adding so much for so little, while the game keeps its rating. Mods are great, but f.e. older TW"s blood mods don’t hold up against what CA can do for a few bucks.

for AoE4, i would add so much to the medieval immersion, it’s a war game! It would be amazing to see where battles took place on the map from some form of blood/gore

Yes, it appears it is very well done

If you read the reviews you will see that it’s only being downvoted because it costs money.

Would I rather a blood DLC for AoE4 be free? Sure. Is it going to happen? No. They want to keep the 12+ rating. If charging $2 let’s them get around that, I’d rather have that option than not.

Having a little blood in the game won’t change the age rating

The rating systems of different countries differ quite strongly among themselves. Whereas in Russia, Europe and Germany, the boxes simply indicate the minimum recommended age, in the USA and Australia these badges leave some room for interpretation. Interestingly, in Australia there are two groups of “18+”: the first is assigned simply to adult material, and the second - to material of a clearly pornographic nature.
The United States has an age classification system for games and entertainment software created by the state-owned ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board). The ESRB rating does not prohibit the sale of games to children under 18 years of age and is purely advisory in nature, however, ESRB supports the voluntary policy of retailers who independently limit the sale of M and AO games to minors (under 17-18 years old).
In Russia, a common system of age ratings is used for all information products, which is also more advisory than prohibitive. The federal law “On the Protection of Children from Information Harmful to Their Health and Development” is considered the main guide to assessing games.
In the European Union, there is a general recommendatory system of notation for age restrictions for computer games and entertainment software - PEGI.
This system is used not only in the eurozone countries, but also in Russia (if the classification adopted in the Russian Federation is absent for some reason) and in Ukraine. However, a number of EU countries have their own age rating systems.
In different countries, the same game may have a different rating. It is influenced by mentality, culture and religion, as well as many other factors. A good example of the difference in perception of content across countries is the Sims 4 game.
She received the following ratings:
-ACB (Australia): M
-RSVR (Russia): 18+
-PEGI: 12+
-ESRB: T - for teenagers
-USK (Germany): 6+
As we can see, the game has the most severe rating in Russia. Apparently, the reason for such a harsh judgment is that the censors saw in it a violation of the following paragraph of the law on the protection of children: parents and (or) other family members ”.
In the game, you can really choose a partner of either gender. But these actions are not imposed on the player, and in the tasks received there is nothing connected specifically with non-traditional orientation. Any actions occur at the request of the player. The base game characters and families suggested by the game are heterosexual.
If we remember family values and disrespect for parents, then in the game, of course, you can not give a damn about raising and caring for a newborn, but this will be followed by the inevitable punishment - the service will come and take the child. You can also fight with any characters in the game, be it a parent, friend or just a stranger. In general, there is no propaganda of any negative actions in the game, but there are opportunities. The game paid for them.

In the US, The Sims 4 was rated Teen (13+). The description of the content that is allowed for teens over the age of 13 is as follows: “The game is suitable for people 13 and over. Projects in this category may contain violence, obscene scenes, crude humor, moderately explicit sexual content, blood, or infrequent use of profanity. " The Sims 4 only has “sexually explicit content” of these.

Australia has given a sparing and recommendatory rating M (Mature): the game may contain violence and nudity. This means that Sims 4 is recommended for teens over 15, but not banned for children under 15. The decision to purchase the game is at the discretion of the parents.

European PEGI has rated The Sims 4 a 12+ rating. This category allows the presence of unrealistic violence and nudity, as well as swearing without sexual connotation.

But Germany decided to deviate from the PEGI recommendations and assign its rating 6+. Interestingly, the Germans place particular emphasis on violence when assigning age ratings. There is no overt and realistic violence in The Sims 4, which is why the game received a low age rating. Of course, there is always an opportunity to subtly kill your “sim”, but his death will not look realistic, and the image of blood in the game is completely absent.

Don’t tell me, tell Microsoft. Like I said - I wouldn’t complain if we got it for free and if it wouldn’t affect age rating then there is no reason why we shouldn’t.

Apparently we needed a lecture on how different countries rate games…

Well, you have to find out how the age rating system works. Obviously, you did not know, because you stated that blood cannot affect the assessment of the game by the appropriate commission in any country, the market of which may be very important.

I do know how it works

Point out where I said that

I said this. A LITTLE blood won’t effect the age rating. AoE2 is 12+, so a little blood won’t make a difference

Apparently not.

If you know how it works, then you should know that games that have received a rating of 12+, in another country can receive a completely different rating by the decision of the commission based on local legislation and “norms of morality, ethics and censorship”.
We do not have a single rating commission that sets one rating for games in all countries of the world.

With this logic, what’s stopping them from rating it 18+? Because it is a game based on “vicious medieval warfare”

Because I disagree with you I don’t know how things work, ok…good to know

There is no need to misinterpret my words, you are wrong because you don’t know something, this is normal, you cannot be an expert in all areas, it’s normal to not know something.

It’s not a matter of logic, the age rating can be set in accordance with local legislation on censoring any products, books, films, performances, etc.
If you release a childhood game about a family where you can have unisexual marriages, it will receive a rating of 6+ or 12+ in Europe, but 18+ in Russia, because local legislation prohibits the promotion of unisexual marriage among minors.
If you release a game about funny and kind skeletons, it can get the same 6+ in Europe, but be banned for sale in China, since it is forbidden to display human remains in the form of bones there.
And so with many games and countries, each country is a sector, a potential area for sales, and the game must take into account the legislation of this country if it wants to be sold in it and have the desired age rating.
Sometimes special versions of games are released for countries, edited to fit local legislation.

No, I am “wrong” because I disagree with you. Nothing to misinterpret, you have shown your thought process very clearly in the few months you have been on the forums

Never said I was but apparently you think you do

Look up AoE2 AoK or DE in Russia. I’ll bet you anything it isn’t higher than 12
We are not talking about adding the stuff you are comparing the game with, we are talking about a little red stuff on the ground.

so why is everyone using it if it’s so bad, can’t believe you’d rather have no blood then pay a couple bux for it…

Or devs could do their job, to develop the game?
If some one selling raw product for overprice, i will keep saying it.

I have a list of improvements to fix with mods. Any work should be paid and for mods is too much to fix within the game.

Dota is free → 80+0=40, but Aoe4 should be cost 1$, cause 80^0=1.
Why price of random game made as an example.
Cyberpunk spend 300mln on development and cost less than aoe4 (in my country).
let’s bring other random games.

I just stated that for 60$ i expect quality product, not suggestion “get used” or “fix with mods”.

#1 It’s a matter of principle
#2 I only play TW games when I’m in a mood for realistic combat and AoE when I’m in the mood for not so realistic

I’d stop now, if you start critiquing the game you’re gonna get some backlash
