Fantastic! I didn’t notice this until the twitter update, maybe a quick note on the general forum will draw attention to these interviews.

How about a new screenshot or two? Could just be a villager hunting doesn’t need to be too grandiose hehe

Awesome! Speaking of the UI… screenshot?

The terrains do seem to give some life to the game overall before it used to look a bit too simple. It was still good but some new terrains will make it more realistic to the localizations the game was developed in

Long time, no siege Alexastor! You did an amazing job on the terrain textures, plants and trees. There are a few suggestions in the forums that I hope your team will consider, including cleaning up the muddy graphics so there is more contrast when zoomed out and updating the rendering engine like Age of Empires II: HD Edition.

Hey Alex this is Elpea/Luciano.

OMG I DIDN’T KNOW!!

fingers crossed

Is this perhaps what your were looking for? Alexander stated in response to question 3:

“I think that the additional terrains and plants we added are making a big difference, as they breathe so much life and variation into the game.”

It is my understanding he is referring to scenario editor objects (environments, objects, textures) not terrain rendering (how hills and valleys are formed).

Since he didn’t mention scenario editor objects specifically (within his responses), we’ll just have to wait and see.

The additional terrains he mentioned are terrain types. Like in the original there was only grass and desert, but in the new screenshots you can see grass, desert, dirt and gravel with several variations of each. They are not technically scenario editor objects, but still only textures and not related to rendering.

Its great

Greetings

So it will be a beautiful sight!
Possibly…
Mission Expansion? A little extra?
I and many others would be very happy for her. In vain, it’s nice to see if gameplay is boring.

zomg :open_mouth:
Congrats Alexastor!

Ohh this is great! And must have been a lot of work lol I wonder if the assets are now 3D, and if we will be able to turn the camera angle, and see our cities and battles from all angles (that would be so amazing!)

It’s confirmed that the assets are still sprites, just super high quality ones.

Great to see Alexastor still has his hands in the game. From player to forumer to moderator to developer! He is the people’s champion!

The guy is king… Okay, that’s what we mean.
But will it be a new mission?

Very good indeed, I haven’t seen Alexastor in quite a while, glad to know he is the Creative director of the dev team.
