Mission 16: Good Advice in Fall Of Trident skip bug

Issue:

Completing mission 16 in Fall of Trident; Good Advice without actually completing it. This results in you being able to play the next mission and having the medal (titan in my case) next to mission 16 without actually ever playing through the third section.

Trigger Event:

Saved game at the start of the third section of mission 16 in Fall of Trident. Quit the mission, disabled mods, restarted the game.

Repro Steps:

  1. Play through the first two sections of mission 16 of Fall of Trident until you arrive at the third section.
  2. Save game
  3. Quit mission
  4. Disable mods (original music and resources in bottom-left in my case)
  5. Reboot AoM:Retold
  6. Mission 16 suddenly counts as completed and awards the medal without ever having actually played through the third section of the mission.

I cannot reproduce this myself since the medal is there and mission 17 is unlocked. Maybe something else triggers this bug.
