I don’t know if the torch damage boost for spearmen was intended or not, but the fact that it disappears after upgrade is certainly a bug.
When playing Mongol civilization, spearmen have a +2 torch damage boost, making it 12/15/18/22 instead of standard 10/13/16/20 in each age. But after upgrading to hardened, the boost is gone.
