# MP restore game errors

### ▶ ISSUE EXPERIENCED

👇_When clicking restore a MP game save, the error comes on screen: Tranfer of restore file 'xxxx" from host has not completed._

### ▶ FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

### ▶ REPRODUCTION STEPS

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Click a online MP gamesave to restore

2. When both players click ready/start, the error pops on screen

3. 

### ▶ EXPECTED RESULT

The expected result should be that the online MP game start and both players can play.

How old is the restore file? As soon as a patch comes out for AoE2DE, old saved games from previous builds/versions of the game probably won’t load.

They haven’t supported the loading of saved games very well for a decade or more

For example: Save game today. Patch comes out tomorrow. The saved game probably won’t be restorable after patch.

The restore file (MP savegame) is made/created after the big update 185872 installed. So only a few days old. I created these savegames over older savegames (overwritten) But that has always worked for me.
