During multiplayer matches lasting 60+ minutes in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, the game’s performance drops to ~1 FPS.

Details:

  • The issue appears consistently after about 1 hour of gameplay.
  • Pausing for 10 minutes, saving and reloading the match, or reconnecting does not improve performance.
  • We have been playing together regularly for 2–3 years without this problem.
  • The issue started occurring 4–6 weeks ago and continues to persist.

2. Play 4v4
3. Game FPS consistently drops to 1 after around 60 minutes of play.

This is extremely weird I have a different issue with my testing but exactly the same error has you

Do you happen to play against or with a specific civ ?

It does look like AOE2 dev has fuck up something again

Here is our game and all the details. We play old_Yucatan. This is a Host game / multiplayer with 8 real people. No bots.

It is not happening in all games; we play 3 games each minimum of 1.5-3 hours every week. It started to happen last 2 weeks.
