I came across these Vietnamese military units; do you think they could work for the civilization?

i would loooveee to see a Brasil civilization with the system that Mexico has. Age up by picking a region. And it gives you the bonusses that it’s known for.
It would have sooo much flavor.
And to get a Quilombo dos Palmares revolution with Hausa influences and to be able to revolt to Hausa. Like the Yucatan revolution and the revolution to Mayans.
Several native revolutions would also be sweet. And ofcourse native regions in the age ups.
Ah and to revolt into the Empire, and make Portugal your b*tch xD
Yeah you shouldn’t just copy-paste from War of the Triple Alliance, as far as that goes the advice they gave you is a good one. But the lesson here isn’t to actively avoid everything War of the Triple Alliance did just for the sake of avoiding it either.
You must understand why decisions are taken, not just blindly follow or be contrarian for the sake of it. Have some self-determination for God’s sake. Make actual meaningful decisions. Think before you act.
Like you’re not forced to pick Koygua either. It all depends on what narrative you want to follow. Paraguay isn’t just the War of the Triple Alliance, you can make it only that if you want, even though you have to consider why first.
Hell you’re not forced to use either name, you can use Mensú if you really wanna be contrarian since that’s yet another local term for laborers. But you gotta be clever about why you’re picking that name in the first place. (Does Paraguay need an unique worker name to begin with?)
But again, it all depends on what narrative you want to tell with the history you’re writing. Think before you take any decision.
I’d like that too; hopefully, the developers will consider it in the near future.
Very well, I will revisit the Paraguayan Revolution to make some modifications.
Pricipality of Wallachia ( Romania) isn’t such bad idea. Nation leader vould be Michael the Brave. Michael the Brave - Wikipedia
I wonna see also Crimean Khanate ( leader could be Devlet I Giray).
Except for campaigns. I want Napoleonic campaigns.
You’ll not get any argument from me do that! I’d love a campaign that takes us through a young Bonaparte during the revolutions though some of the most famous battles, before ending with Waterloo.
Dlc with campaign about Napoleon’s military career could be great. There is also possibility to add Egypt and Austria as new factions there.
I hope the production group can remake the model of China’s units, equipping Chinese soldiers with Chinese brigandine armor, Lamellar armor, and iron helmets that are more in line with history, and adding historical artillery such as Hongyi cannons. Add a revolution options similar to the Meiji Restoration in Japan to China, for example: Westernization Movement, The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement and the Restoration Movement of Ming.
The Americas only needs Brazil, (Gran) Colombia and Argentina, imho. Canada could be interesting as well, but it is not top priority on the timeframe of Age of Empires III. Through Brazil, Colombia and Argentina, you can get Ecuador and Venezuela (maybe even Bolivia and Peru) via Colombian revolutions and Paraguay and Uruguay through Argentinian revolutions, as well as Uruguay from a Brazilian revolution. With Mexico already in (and the Central American revolution for Mexico), you’ve basically got 90% of Latin America covered.
Paraguay became independent from Spain in 1811, 5 years before AR. One hundred years earlier, the Comunera Revolution took place, considered the first precedent for independence in the region.
Furthermore, not only does it make no sense to consider Paraguay as a “revolution” of Argentina, the Battle of Paraguarí (Cerro Porteño) clearly demonstrated that they were not necessary for independence.
In theory, Paraguay was a province of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata and it declared independence in 1811 at the same time as many other colonial provinces of the Spanish Empire. When the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata formed, they asked all the provinces of the former viceroyalty to join, but Paraguay refused and kept its independence up to the present, while the other colonial provinces joined the United Provinces/Argentina.
We can’t have base civilizations for all Latin American nations, so a Paraguayan revolution derived from the base Argentina civilization represents the refusal of the former colonial province of Paraguay to join the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata, which considered itself to be the successor of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata, to which the Province of Paraguay belonged to.
Yes we can
You are not a dev to call what can or can’t be done, this isnt Age2, the more civs, the better
It’s a funny argument to say we can’t have this or that civ when ultimately none of them are in the game.
After all, all we are doing here is speculating with very ambigous and personal arguments that in now way reflect the train of thought of the devs have when choosing a civilization to include in the game. Also, in a way, we already have Brazil, Colombia and Argentina in the game as revolutionary nations.
I’d rather none of those and add Comanche, Cree, Muskogee, Haida/Tlingit, Maya, Mapuche, and Guaraní instead.
Are any of these currently minor factions? If they become playable civilizations, which ones would you replace them with?
It’s not a bad idea… but they should do what Men of War did and make a game focused on Vietnam and separate it from “Company of Heroes: Vietnam.” But I suppose they’ll do it after releasing CoH 4 in the Pacific, so they can reuse a lot of jungle assets for both games…
Exactly, I would add that Korea was invaded by France in 1866 and then by the United States in 1871 (Vietnam too, but by France and Spain instead)…if France had conquered Korea in 1866, the Korean War would have been like the Vietnam War 0.5…
Dracula could also be a possibility, since his campaign takes place during the modern age… Stephen the Great and Alexandru Ioan Cuza as well…
Comanche, Cree, Maya, and Mapuche are.
Comanche could get replaced with Shoshone on some maps. Until the 1600s they were actually just a part of the Shoshone.
Cree could be covered by Ojibwe in eastern regions and Blackfoot in the west.
Maya don’t really have a good replacement. But the Maya were never really fully unified so it wouldn’t be too bad to just keep the minor civ alongside a full civ.
Mapuche could be replaced by Tehuelche.
