Dont know how theyre still this over powered after years but the khmer need to be nerfed hard. I know their weakness is spearman and anti cav camels but it doesnt help when they one tap you from 5+ away your army cant even touch them. I havent played a single game in the last few months where there weren’t at least a couple people playing the khmer. Its super fun trying out new civs and new strats but facing them every single time has gotten extremely old

Just make a new counter civ/unit rather than nerf hammering them? What do you suggest? Removing Hussar? Making Battle Elephants weaker? At least put forth some ideas, rather than just saying nerf them.

Did you type this in April 2020 and forget to post it? There’s at least a dozen civs better and more widely used than Khmer.
From this, it feels like you’re a closed map TG player. Yes they’re very strong in those settings but so are many others in such settings. Like Mongols, Bohemians, Turks. Even the elephant archer civs are good in such settings.
And for those exact settings where Khmer boom into Ballista elephants, a huge nerf has come through in the recent patch. Those ballistas will now take so much more damage from onagers. So pick Ethiopians, Koreans, Celts, go for SO with their respective UT and suddenly Khmer won’t seem too strong.

Lots of civs seem OP. But the secret is you need to kill them before they can mass their Post-Imp UU
The only things to do would be “maybe” to reduce the collisions. Elephants take a lot of place and even camels get stucked and cannot reach them properly.
Khmer aren’t OP, next.
