Ok. Take a look yourself: Age of Statistics
Age of Empires 2 Civilisation Performance Statistics (gowerc.github.io)
I got what you said there, I was just trolling.
If the team allowed that combination it’s then another problem.
I agree, but don’t agree with nerfing them to death.

NO. Huns were the most popular civ back in AOC. Almost all open map games were Hun wars. Franks weren’t even a top tier civ as they had no berry bonus at that time. Once the CA bonus was nerfed, they’re now a balanced civ. The reason why Franks or Britons are now the most popular is because they have very strong bonuses equivalent to that of Huns in AOC.

At 1700+ elo its 65% and at 1200+ elo is 60%. Below that elo is obviously inaccurate data for balance purposes.
In TG, if one team has Frank pocket, other team a camel civ Pocket, Arbalests will eat the camels before the Camels eat their Cavalry. This is why they have an enormous 12% pick rate in TGs (second highest pick rate for pocket civ is 5% for Magyars)
In 1v1 obviously you have halbs, hand canoneers with Franks and cheaper castles for late game and monks, pikemen, crossbows for early game against pure camel play. So you don’t die to a camel civ that easily. I think Chinese or saracen with heavy market abuse might cause problems to Franks but otherwise they should be ok.
Never check stats which include “All”. Look for 1200 and above at the least. You have enough data at 1200+ and the players know a fair amount of how to play the game.
what do you mean by allowed that combination. You can never disallow that combination vs Franks+Britons if you don’t have the same civ combo yourself. This is THE problem. The way these bonuses complement each other makes these civs super powerful and nearly impossible to play against. You can even win against higher elo team if they don’t have those two civs.
Go to the win rate vs play rate chart for Team 1200+ open on that stats link you’ve shared. You’ll see Franks at the top right corner, with way too much win and play rates compared to any other civs. Keep switching charts, except for RM Solo closed, Franks will be at the top right corner of all charts.
Specifically there’s a section called “no-pick” which is when players go for random and get Franks. Franks are at the extreme top right corner there as well.
There are numerous excellent civilizations for team games. The Britons just happen to be designed to deal well with a multitude of team map scenarios well. That Longbowmen are excellent support units, does not negate the fact that so are Rattans. Rattans have greater difficulty with SOs, but they can outrun Longbowmen, and sustain continuous missile fire when sniping trade. As for the Franks, there are other options also.

Like a few others have mentioned and as stats show, the numerous civs don’t usually show up. Its always Franks-Britons- . The other options change in 3v3 and 4v4. There are some Huns, Magyars, Lithuanians as the 2nd pocket. Ethiopians, Mayans, Chinese, Saracens for the other flank. But Franks, Britons pretty much always there at TG 2k+ elos.
