I like macedonia the most as it is fairly simple to play and you can make your units really strong, the landmarks are also great, winery is like an aachen chapel for food income and you can immediately place farms around it and golden horn tower is a rare age 3 defensive landmark with a very strong double crossbow emplacement and it gives you free crossbows over time.
All of the abilities your units have also reward good micro.
For me it’s golden horde.
- Already enjoy mongol and the way to get advanced eco and double produce but this feels so different
- I always like abassid and the house of wisdom as a central landmark and speed of having it to the age up instead of villagers but still having fun options choosing which to go with.
- I really enjoyed the wingard landmark English have and really miss the old Malian gold production military landmark where you could batch produce at a discount so the age 4 stone armies feels very similar to those.
- No houses is always making things easier
- Happy they retained the ger but have a small discount as they don’t move.
- Some new units to mix it up and happy with the added defensive walls and towers which allows it to not be so easy to rush.
- Only cons I have right now are I never use the golden charge and the beachhead rams. I need to test them out sometime and get the concept just haven’t had as much use case for it
