New cultures are extensive and take a lot of time and patience. But what about new God packs?

One of the things that really bugs me are the annoying and incessant cries for a million and a half cultures. “Give us Slavic, Aztec, Babylonian pantheons, etc etc!” These people don’t realize how much work goes into these to make them meaningful and fun. But what about new god packs?

Egypt still has LOTS of deities and plenty of material that could be made into one just like the Freyr god pack. In comparison to a whole new culture, this is a lot less time consuming as the layout of the civilization is already there. You would just need 3 new myth units (maybe 4 if there is an Archaic age mythic unit like a Pegasus) 4 new god powers, and 9-12 mythic techs. 5 bucks and you got a simpler to produce injection of money for the game and new content to play with either in skirmish or in multiplayer. I’m surprised you guys haven’t jumped on this yet to gauge interest in making a 3rd new culture.

Adding new gods is relatively easy, it just involves making new entries into the major_gods, minor_gods and techtree files, along with the relevant UI files and stringtable. The drawback is that they will have to be tied to the cultures already in the game; adding completely new custom cultures (besides the 5 in the game) is currently not possible.

We are probably ganna get a god pack as the next dlc or 2 before a culture pack while the devs focus more on the actuall game and less on the new content.

And many players ask for such dlcs, just see the forum and reddit asking for and creating conceptsof major gods such as dymeter etc…
