New DLC! Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition – The Last Chieftains

Just alter them into being real civs, and add a mode where they are intact and shove their campaigns there.

Here’s the thing tho, as far as I can tell, every app post de launch has been a dlc.

if it was just adding content you could add it to the 3k app dlc. And yes there have been civs that have been introduced with one dlc then gotten a campaign in another. The most similar example to this hypothetical would be the Lithuanians.

It seems weird to me, especially with all the criticism that 3k stuff and the medieval stuff being in the same dlc, that the solution would be to create another dlc to finish off the content that was controversially added to another dlc. That would seem to exacerbate the problem, not remedy the problem.

It would seem to me, assuming this actually is some additional content and not just meaningless backend adminy stuff, is you’d split 3k, anyone who bought legacy 3k would still have access to khitanguts and jurchens and they could purchase the new dlc at a discount, so they aren’t double paying for those civs. Pretty sure when DE was coming out owners of HD got a discount.

At the rate they have been reducing content in a DLC, all this will require 2-3 DLCs, which is impossible.

3 New Civilizations

Blaze a trail across tall mountains, thick jungles, and vibrant landscapes as you command the Mapuche, Muisca, and Tupi, each with unique units, technologies, and stunning new architecture.

Mapuche – Featuring the Kona, a melee cavalryman that deals extra damage to wounded foes, and the Bolas Rider, a ranged cavalryman whose attacks slow enemy movement.

Muisca – Hailing from the Colombian Andes, the Muisca deploy the Guecha Warrior, a javelineer whose death heals nearby allies, and the Temple Guard, a heavy infantryman that attacks faster the longer it fights.

Tupi – Masters of the Brazilian jungle, the Tupi utilize the Blackwood Archer, a ranged unit that trains in pairs, and the Ibirapema Warrior, a heavy infantryman with powerful area damage.

Built for Ranked Multiplayer

All three unique civilizations are designed and ready for ranked play. With familiar tech trees and intuitive design, the Mapuche, Muisca, and Tupi slide seamlessly into ranked and multiplayer, offering fresh strategies and unique ways to compete and claim victory!

Lead 3 New Campaigns

Embark on three new campaigns and rewrite the story of medieval South America: fight for freedom as a young Mapuche warrior, balance love and loyalty in a Muisca struggle for El Dorado, and outwit rival tribes as a Tupi chieftain playing Europeans against each other to reclaim your homeland.

Shape each story with impactful choices, earn the loyalty of allied tribes, and train heroic units with game-changing auras, all while marveling at new flora, fauna, and other atmospheric visuals that will fully immerse you in medieval South America.

I see guanacos, black panthers, capybara herdables, anacondas in rivers and some new harvestable plant? Papaya?

I see an Inca castle here, which means most likely Incas get the new architecture too. Overall…I think I like the new architecture.

Is this a unique building?

Calm down that’s campaign only (at least within that context)

Looks impressive. Well done devs, looks like Inca finally got separated from the Mesoamerican bset.

Also seems like Portuguese got a nice scenario building there.

Regional building - Settlement. Available for all 4 South American civs. Seems like a TC that can’t train villagers.

Tbh the new architecture set looks insanely cool. Everything I’ve read about this DLC is very promising. The heroes will be campiagn only. Incas must have the new South American architecture set right? There is one picture with the Inca castle.

So Champi Warriors are the new eagles for South American civs…?

  • Settlements — buildings that support population and serve as dropsites for all resources. The Inca, Mapuche, Muisca, and Tupi can all build Settlements.

  • Champi Warriors — fast infantry who can build Outposts and excel at scouting, raiding, and fighting ranged soldiers. Available to the Inca, Mapuche, Muisca, and Tupi.

Seems like it. Haven’t seen any Eagle in any screenshot.

Yep. I have read the whole page. So it is a TC lite.

You know what will be the funniest thing devs can do? Not changing Incas architecture.

I don’t think you can train villagers in them. I think they provide population space and serve as a general-purpose drop site.
