New DLC! Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition – The Last Chieftains

That already exists on AOE 2 with the Jurchen UT.

It’s a civ bonus for Bengalis.

It feels really odd and disappointing that we still haven’t had any real news about the DLC, especially with the new AoM god pack already released. By this point, we should have much more information.

The Muisca civilization hasn’t even been teased yet. We know nothing about Champi Warrior stats, and we have zero idea what the Inca tech tree will look like. We’re less than 7 days away from the DLC release, and all we have are the Tupi and Mapuche tech trees. That’s it.

I honestly don’t know who’s at fault here—MS, WE, or FE—but something feels really off with how this is being handled. Maybe it’s just me, but Ornlu mentioned he’s planning to make videos about the new civs, new units, and campaigns. That’s easily 10+ videos, all supposedly coming out in under a week if he even gets early access.

The silence at this stage is just baffling.

Didn’t the website break down all the civs?

Summarized all civs and shared the Tupi and Mapuche tech trees. That’s all.

Maybe the fact that some content creators spilled all 3 tech trees at once pissed off the devs lol?

We still got more than for the Aztec DLC in AoM
But I’m worried about the in-game language of the new civs, including AoM Aztecs. AoE2 and AoE3 Aztecs famously speak a made up language.

So I just realized we are more than a third into February, time flies. Definitely awkward having no news.

I can already see the Aztecs from AoM reusing the same voices from AoE 2 and 3…

They are doing a way better job with this DLC than the 3K one.

The Muisca overview will probably happen by the end of this week.

SOTL requested the devs to slow down until he covers all units and civs from 3k. 11

The Muisca just got revealed. Anyone got the link? I tried posting it and it didn’t work.

I think this works?

BTW, just a crazy idea. If a civ’s wonder is a religious building, should it have the ability to store relics?

That would be awesome tbh, the same with wonders that are defensive structures, they could work like a castle

I think that is entirely for balance reasons.

Forgotten Empires originally had a Fortified Palisade upgrade but they removed it. They don’t want a Wooden Wall that is too good.

Yes, imagine if all the relics were in the wonder; everyone would have to throw the wonder to avoid losing due to relics…

What do you mean?

If you have a wonder you win from wonder victory, so it doesn’t matter at all if they can garrison relics.

Yes, I know, so wouldn’t it be somewhat redundant?..

I was expecting canoes for some of the new civilizations. Apparently that won’t be happening.
