Adding the Finns in the Vikings Saga DLC was a good opportunity that is now missed.

A Russian DLC will depend on the political situation. As things stand now, I don’t expect one for another decade.

We have the greatest civ/nation of them all. The nation of Chad itself. Nobody would be able to withstand such sheer dominance.

I remember playing C&C Tiberian Dawn as a kid and coming across the name “Chad” and that stuck with me for a long time.

You’re right, the Azerbaijani offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh was on September 19-20, 2023, and The Mountain Royals was released a month later, on October 31st… I’d add that the Caucasus map for AoE 3 DE was added around the same time… so we shouldn’t be so strict with real-world Shenanigans when talking about incorporating new maps and civilizations…

I’ve been told that the devs released a statement that the development predated the offensive. So I guess they might not start developing an East Slavic DLC until a long-term armistice at the very least.

Yeah, I wouldn’t hold my breath on any kind of armistice. That doesn’t seem likely to happen any time soon.

The devs are Europeans so they perceive conflicts differently. The DLC for the Armenians was in development way before the conflict, and which in turn did not constitute a major threat to Europe as it was localized.

I would find it hard to believe that they would push out a Russia DLC in this political climate considering the potential reaction by part of the audience that see Russia as a major threat.

Make an east European DLC about the Chuds and have them beat up the Slavs, lmao.
