So I’ve used your advice on several more matches. Haven’t managed to win yet I’m afraid, but there is definite improvement. It’s little things that have helped. Things like setting waypoints from the TCs towards some resource so I don’t have idle time and then move Vills to other resources, building a tower or a castle near a resource or closer to my edge so my base behind is more protected, booming a little more effectively and so on.
I can tell I put up more of a fight now, but I always end up losing because I have trouble splitting my focus on both booming and preparing an attack. So by the time I feel ready to go on the offensive, the AI is a little ahead of me and starts attacking before I can put up a good defence. Then it slowly floods me.
I think it’s more a matter of practice now, to make myself faster and also be able to also create military units while I boom. Because now I either do one or the other, or I do both badly… I’ll get it one of these weekends
