tell you what, let’s just add one that has bonus damage against all those things, a 1.5 base speed, no frame delay, 9 base damage, a cost of 40 wood and gold, give it 3 base PA and give it to a civ with all the upgrades and gets a bonus damage reduction to boot to make it unkillable. sounds balanced to me!

We need regional monks, queens and more types of kings and merchants for the Europeans by civilisational grouping - West, Central, East and Mediterranean European.
Saladin, Frederick Barbarossa, Tamerlane and Genghis Khan should all have been given unique skins - they are key actors in the campaigns for goodness sake! Not renamed mangudai, teutonic knights or mamelukes.

I thought about it but he might look like a dismounted catapract.also a shield might not be useful when using a 2 handed weapon.
Haven’t you seen their trade cart? The outfit of the guy of the cart is suitable.
A runner with a short spear in his right hand and a shield in his left. This is enough to identify.
Even the scout without the shield, their spear-holding and running stance are still obviously different from those of the spearmen line. Don’t worry.

That’s basically what the Sunda Royal Fighter is, would be easier to recolor him, and maybe give him the trade cart guy’s breechcloth.
