Some myt units costing same population as foot soldiers doesn’t look good to me. “Quantity” should not be how myth units get a spotlight in retold.
3 pop minotaur,cyclops etc would be reasonable. Of course costing more means they would be stronger.
i partly agree even i think human units should cost one pop except for cav.
Disagree - one of the major features of this retold is the new pop system to encourage bigger battles and more myth units. There’s even whole threads on how to increase population as even what they’ve done so far isn’t considered enough. Increasing the pop count of myth units again is counter-intuitive to this progress and would just create the same principle complaint people had with the original, namely that the pop cap was too restrictive
Agreed. The suggestion would go against the very design goals of Retold itself. Implementing some of the more classic AOM features again (like bigger pop cap for myth units) would just make it feel stale and restrictive quickly. The new pop cap makes this a non-issue (almost anyway) it encourages you to branch out more to get a military advantage on your opponent but if the pop cap on myth units is reimplemented the way it was, it risks ruining the more aggressive flow of Retold.
They are 3 pop. It’s just the Zeus bonus (Myth units cost -1 pop space) that makes them 2 pop for that specific God, which is fine imo.
true. and i agree. i also appreciate to see more myth units in a match. i just thought the arguement for making them even stronger was a fair point and a good idea too. (at best both: being able to spam more myth units and make them stronger than original/EE)
leave most myth units 3 pop max but again human soldiers on foot should cost 1 pop and cav 2 pop. at least in my opinion.
They already made system that works by increasing pop caps, so I don’t understand why you guys are still asking for further pop reductions.
If youre asking cav to be 2 pop and infantry 1 pop, youre basically asking for cav that is 2 times stronger and expensive than infantry. 2 pop-3pop is much better system.

Zeus bonus is too strong.
Even 3 pop for Minotaur is OP.
Minotaur should remain less than 5 speed but it can reach 6.7
I’d really hate to deal with Zeus’s Collossi if they’re going to cost four pop instead of five. I used to build massive Collossus armies in campaigns and obliterate the AI without having to make a new army. It was pretty easy to execute, so I hope that four-pop collossi don’t become broken.
