About the sound issue, can you try verifying files and repairing?If this doesn’t work, try reinstalling the game.
The chat not working is a general issue we are tracking.

Hi thanks for the response, i’m playing on xbox so I cant check the files but i reinstalled it and the issue is still there.

I had the same issue, with the sound since the last update. I’d like to notice that in my case only some of the attack sounds are not played. ie when a villager is attacked, or some unit is attacked by boar.
I am playing on the PC and Steam. This is only since the last update. I didn’t notice issues with chat but I am not using it often

Did you try verifying integrity of game files(Steam) or reinstalling the game(Microsoft Store)?

I have. No issues were found. Reinstallation didn’t solve the problem.
