No August PUP?

No? That’s interesting.

I think it’ll go: AoM release, AoM hotfix, then AoE3. Hopefully I’m wrong, it would be really nice if the AI could transport artillery again.

Bruh…

Friend, we are ALL with you mate, but there is no point in making these threads every other month brother
We may speak to the void, but the void will respond when the gods decide it…

On the topic…

Is the AoE2 forum more active than ours?
I know the players get more of a hand at balances for map polls and whatnot, but other than that, do the devs communicate there with the forumers?

Kudos to you for pulling all of the history

That being said, I’m doing this strategically and purposefully. The very very few who can make an actual difference and are reading the forums need to know that we feel left out in the cold.

Every month I’m putting the fact that we haven’t gotten anything at all, into the spotlight. It serves as a reminder that we’re here, and we’re STILL waiting for SOMETHING. ANYTHING. That we NOTICE when another month goes by and aren’t happy when nothing comes of it.

And I may be particularly passionate about it but I’m not the only one, and for good reason.

Well, good luck to you bro, we need folks like you

This seems like a good occasion for a dev to make themselves noticed…

I would like to think they are cooking up some major changes to the game(both good and bad) with the upcoming new civs that their is no point in updates/hot fix until then. That’s the best case mind you.

aoe2 doesn’t have that many balance issues like aoe3 so most players are happy. Nothing to argue in forum…just pathing is a bit bad, but the devs know that too.

funny if we apply aoe3 forum player ideology in aoe2 we will see this.
“Franks Palatine beat 85% other civ counterpart, nerf it”
“only 15% counterparts in game can beat Armenians galley, break the game”

well, we call that civ bous for a reason.

They do, at least in the bug report section like here 2 days ago

nice one, you got me good

No it is the card and deck and unit variety that make aoe3 hard to balance. Aoe2 doesn’t have that issue. All the bonuses are minor by aoe3 standards. So aoe2 forum is much more peaceful

nah, like Armenians will 10-0 Cumans in Islands.
the reason why they wont complain is that they have a better match making system.
you just force random civ or you can just ban map.
and, most importantly, they dont hang death on a single civ

Yes, AoE2 devs usually reply on the ‘report a bug’ category threads. On rare occasions also for other stuff. Also on some AoM threads, they have replied. You will find active devs for AoE2 in reddit as well, even though they won’t necessarily always reply, they have replied there.

But in the last 2 years, 0 for AoE3 and in the last 6 months 0 for AoE4 in the forums.

I’ve only seen forum moderators active here, not sure which accounts are the developers.
I did make an experiment a long time ago, so those might be the ones, let me find the link…

Darn… I did some digging and… we are F’d in the A guys :skull_and_crossbones:

3 developers made a cameo in my post, 2 of them stopped all communication 2 years ago, and the 3rd has been gone since january this year.

Wait… ok, I did some more digging, and what’s weirder, is that, I think, not sure, but 1 of the devs that disappeared 2 years ago has been reading the forums, today at 5am was the last online activity? What does that even mean??

I have a sneaking suspicion that all devs are tied up in a bunker somewhere, only allowed to read the forums without permission to answer, watching as we exponentially lose our minds.

I do have an important question about game development and maintenance that hasn’t been touched as much in the forums, but it should be in it’s own post, so… I’ll be right back.

Still no PUP, huh? That’s super interesting.

After you completely lost heart, even the slightest progress would be a pleasant surprise.

I mean, we did get some news yesterday on Discord from an official source!!!

The news is that there is no news. Oh, and don’t bother asking because that is no longer allowed.

Can’t tell if joking or serious. And if serious, perhaps it was said in jest by said official source out of secrecy, surely?
