There needs to be an option for all units to be ordered in no formation. No formation would allow units to charge in an unordered formation which in many cases is superior to using formations, because formations involve unnecessary movement, as well as transitions in formation shape between long and short distance travel.
No formation is fundamentally superior in naval movement as well, when moving ships in narrow straits.

Also i think vils need formation too so stupid vil pathing can be fixed a little bit.

Bcs when you drag bunch of villagers to somewhere, they walk too sperate and sometimes it can be a problem. This game is not a simulator so villagers can use military formations. It is not againts the game’ s core.
