I can’t get into Age of Empires IV after the most recent update on Oct 31, and same issue today 11/4 after installing Dynasties of the East. I get an error that “You are currently either offline or not yet signed into Xbox Network. Please reconnect to sign in to the game.” I get error code: C00T01R-3X-01 52656C690433. I am able to log into the Microsoft Store and the Xbox app without a problem. And using a difference Microsoft Account (S) I am able to open the game but not using (J).
Some other notes:
- I am only experiencing this issue on one PC. The account (J) works properly on two other PCs.
- I have no problems logging into Windows, Microsoft Store, and Xbox app using either account.
- When I am logged in to Xbox using (J) then when I open up Age of Empires it prompts me to login via Xbox. This is new. I didn’t used to get this prompt and I don’t get the prompt when using s@foo.com.
- I tried disabling all the firewalls, uninstalled and reinstalled AoE, reset XBox, reset Microsoft Store - no impact.
One other note is that when I log onto another PC as (J) and then log into the PC with the problem, as (J) I get the “Uh oh! Looks like you’re signed in on another device” and I get two buttons “Sign In Here” or “Cancel”. If I select “Sign in Here” then I get the same error at the same point. However, if I select “Cancel” then the launch proceeds with the movie and then I get the same “Uh oh!” message again. However, if I select “Sign In Here” at this second dialogue, after the cinematics, then I get the disconnect message on the other PC but then I am able to get into my main PC with the (J) account.
I chatted with Xbox support agent Neelapu Harish who said, “After reviewing with my resources, I can confirm that your account is functioning properly and there are no issues on our end preventing you from playing AOE. Since this appears to be an in-game issue, you should reach out to the game developer’s support team.” I have opened up a ticket with AoE support via the webform but that is slow.
