I would love to see an HD version of the intro.
AOE was complimented heavily for its art in pre-release days, and seeing it in high-resolution is always a treat (Thatās why I love looking at the manual).
The original assets may have been lost to time. They could always re-create it with the new models though.

A reworked version of the original intro would be gorgeous!! Totally agree.
Actually I think they should redo the whole intro, because in 20 years they can do a lot more than then. Also I watched it in 640x480 and now I have 2560x1440 so even if they remix it, it would look awful
To me the intro for 1 seems better than 2, aside from the obvious acting in the infantry battle, and the 100km/h horses. It tells a story, but a brutal and relentless one at that, just like how it may have been.
I remember when I was young I was disappointed the units didnāt actually look like what they did in the intro - now they kind of do, and even better ;p
What if it starts with the old intro and half of the video gets into HD? It would be awesome :#

In the vanilla credits they had this B&W photo of a backstage van where they photoshopped in one of the 3d guys from the intro drinking a soda. When I was young it lead me to believe that they were actually actors in plastic costumes, even in the intro proper
