While the Lithuanian and Polish voicelines from AoE2 are assigned to many of the units of the Poles, I do happen to wonder where else the voicelines are sourced from because certain units like the Pikeman as an example don’t sound like the voicelines derived from AoE2, but rather, something else like mods of the original AoE3 that features the Poles as one of the custom civilizations (i.e., the Napoleonic Era mod). I’d like to know.
Most likely, what doesn’t originate from AoE2 is completely new. I don’t see why they would use mod content at this point.
Of course, the Polish voices they don’t have, they re-record, but in general they use the same voices as AoE 2 (Lithuanian and Polish; and Celtic in the case of the Stuart units)…
Which they shouldn’t, if the wiki is right and that is Middle Gaelic. Because that’s contained to the 1200s.
yeah that was pure nostalgia bait on the devs part.
It’s not like we don’t have scottish voice lines ingame already (Reuse Morgan’s if really need by)
Of course, I mean that the Stuart units speak Middle Gaelic, reusing the voice lines of the Celts from Age of Empires II. The Clansman uses military voice lines, while the Lowlander uses male Villager voice lines. The Bagpiper, meanwhile, makes bagpipe sounds.
Yes, exactly…
I kinda was the one to add that to the wiki (thought the latest version was probably not entirely written by me)
Could have re-recorded the same voice lines with another VA, same as they did with the female explorer skin voice lines (and with the new voice lines in the new AoE2 expansion).
Even the power song is the 2DE Celts theme instead of a historical song like with the other royal houses.
