Pathing is still terrible, keeps me from playing the game

I heard Hera say that pathing was fixed, not sure if he was being sarcastic or maybe he got paid $$$ idk. So I thought of getting into the game after some time to test it out, and what better way than to try out the new and exciting mangudai scenario? So I start micro-ing, click back my units, some of them decide that diving into pikes is a good idea. You can see it in the attached rec at the end when I delete all my units cuz they as dumb as last patch. Go back to HD edition unit regrouping. plz.

Get into a fight with ranged units, attack move back once, then click back (not too close to the units). Then watch your world crash and burn.

even hd edition was considered crap to The Conquerors edition
bring us the original pathing!!

I’m having the same experience in the mangudai madness scenario, units keep diving towards opposite direction of order and killing themselves. I don’t remember this behaviour when I first played it 2 days ago, I wonder if it got worse with the hotfix

The pathfinding in AOE Kings, Conquerors, and HD was pretty terrible, but it had a consistent behavior that people understood. However, when they released DE, the pathfinding was improved compared to all the previous versions and wasn’t broken like it is today. So yes, today pathfinding is worse than all previous versions.

i disagree, the conqeurors pathfinding was better than whatever was reached in DE, as far as i remember DE pathing wasn’t good on release either, i can’t remember it tho.

Install conquerors and try out… you just dont remember how bad it was

When DE was release the pathing wasnt terrible or broken like now.

But anyways, we all can agree how unplayable the game is rn

I know the melee pathing towards enemy units was bad in conquerors, but the unit regrouping was definitely miles better than what we have today. I remember even as a kid I was impressed with how easily the units assembled in formation.

I couldn’t agree more. The unit regrouping was definitely better than now. Its hideous how broken it is.

I was also playing mangudai madness. It’s simply unplayable. They should revert all modifications related to the pathing. Clearly it didn’t improve anything.
