Patrolling could be better

:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
when patrolling, units dont patrol without atacking, they stop when they see a unit to atack them, and after destroying or killing it , then it patrols again. This makes that patrolling is not useless, because we just want to see if an enemy is not building any dock on the coast, i dont want to kill that trade post.

 How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST!

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

 List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. click on
    image
(you have to click, if you press shift-z doesnt work, the boot icon doesnt appear on screen, at least for me, im not sure why)
  2. click on the zone you want to patrol as video show
  3. find that instead of keep going to the ordered zone the unit decides to attack the first unit it finds
  4. after killling the unit it keeps patrolling the area

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

 What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
i think patrol is to make units walk from one place to other place without atacking units they find, just to have a view of the zone, if the unit is atacked, then we click on minimap to decide if it keeps patrolling ot atacks the enemy.

:arrow_forward: IMAGE

 ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.

:arrow_forward: GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)

 Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe3Ysav) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe3Yrec) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file service.

I think this is how patrol is supposed to work, it is the same in other Age games. So, not a bug.

make the ship patrol a bit away from the coast then

I think that adding a “no attack” stance would suffice. But I dunno if they really want to add that.

The only solution for your concern is to press with the shift key to carry out your patrols manually without attack

thats not a solution, is a burden, and an innefective one. the ship/horse would attack what is attacking it, instead of keep running
